that’s one very stylish 14 year old

January 31, 2011

If I didn’t already love Hailee Steinfeld in the movie True Grit, I definitely love her now.  She wowed me at the Golden Globes in her stunning dress and has done it again last night at the SAG awards.  Hailee’s Golden Globes dress was a textured white halter by Prabal Gurung and she styled it so perfectly with a sleek side pony tail.  Now, for the SAGs she wore a real firecracker of a dress by Prada.  The bright pink, orange, and black stripes were a total show stopper which was styled with pretty waves in her hair.  I thought…

The 14 year old actress was nominated for best supporting actress at the Golden Globes and is the youngest actress ever to be nominated for that role.  She is also nominated for the upcoming Oscars.  I mean, isn’t she just precious?  Go Hailee!

Must have Matta

January 31, 2011

I was introduced to Matta scarves when I was in NYC (gosh, I really won’t shut up about that trip and it was months ago, sorry) and I kind of forgot about them till I spotted them on Gadabout’s “Things” page (if you haven’t looked at it before DO IT). So I want one of these Matta Dupata Medium scarves in a bad way… They are slightly smaller in size than the traditional Matta and have fuller pom-pom tassels on all four sides than the fringe tassels on the traditional.  I’m dying over the variety of colors it comes it…

kristen stewart & vogue

January 31, 2011

As a major “Twi-hard”, I LOVE Kristen Stewart aka Bella.  She graces the cover of Vogue’s February issue and I think that she looks absolutely stunning in the pictures.  Dressed in Proenza Schouler and posing with the Proenza Schouler designers, Kristen was photographed in a deserted L.A. warehouse.  In the Vogue spread, Stewart speaks of her love of golf and watching the Food Network.  Sounds like my kind of girl! Be sure to check out the behind the scenes video of Stewart’s shoot with Vogue.  It was quite fun to watch! (Image 1, 2, 3, & 4 via Vogue)

trainer mat

These TRAINERmats are a line of eco-friendly yoga/pilates/abs/you-name-it mats that have a sequence of ten positions illustrated right on the mat.  The idea is that if you can’t make it to the gym, you have the positions right there with you on your mat and could do your circuit of moves no matter where you are.  Pretty clever, huh?  And aren’t the mats actually really neat looking?  For a girl like me who sometimes works 12 hour days and can’t seem to create a gym routine with her crazy schedule, something like this would be great!      …

Sunday’s Best

This is Gus (short for Augusta) and she is my brother’s new puppy.  She is such a little ham and loves posing for glamour shots – how bossy does she look in this picture?  I wish they lived in Dallas so we could play with her everyday (Image taken with his iPhone)
