lavender + orange

January 29, 2011

Oh how much I love the combination of these two lovely colors together!  I am a BIG orange fan.  Anyone who knows me knows this.  But, orange with lavender may just be even better.  One of my new years resolutions is to invest in some nice new bedding and I would love to mix these colors in with some neutrals.  Talented interior designer mom, can you help me with this?   (Image 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

Sprinkles German Chocolate

January 29, 2011

My plans for today involve a baby shower, running a mess of errands, and picking up half a dozen or so of these Sprinkles German Chocolate cupcakes.  Aggressive? Probably.  But Sprinkles is only baking them from January 14-30 and since German Chocolate happens to be my boyfriend’s very favorite cake… Why not?!  “The topping on this Southern classic is a rich, golden caramel, laced with fresh coconut and crunchy pecans.  Piled high atop a light chocolate cake…”  They aren’t for everyone but we loooove them! rikshaw spring

January 28, 2011

Recently, Catherine from Rikshaw Design posted a sneak peak of some of her Spring items.  I have always loved Catherines stuff.  So unique and really unlike most things out there.  Plus, who doesn’t die for a baby in a little block print tunic?!  I am dying to buy some pieces from her adult line.  Specifically this shift dress and one of her kurtas.  I’m not sure if the anchor print Kutra is in women’s sizing but I would die to get it if it is!  Tunics are my go-to piece throughout the summer with shorts, white jeans, and bathingsuits.  Especially…

Fishs Eddy “Postcards”

January 28, 2011

New Yorkers and kitchen fanatics probably already know and love Fishs Eddy but I didn’t even know it existed till I had time to kill in NYC this past October and my friend Michaela told me to hit it up. Fishs Eddy is like the toned down affordable version of Williams Somona.  Known for their classic shaped dinnerware and glassware (in plain and fun patterns), the store is kind of like a cozy maze with staked dishes and cookware on the floors, tables, and all other available surfaces. I was about to jump on a plane and couldn’t buy the…

I was about to jump on a plane and couldn’t buy the Alice and Wonderland glasses I really wanted but I did manage to grab a cool semi-breakable souvenir for my seestar.  Now I am kicking myself I didn’t score these wooden mailable postcards above when I had the chance!  Psh, don’t think I’d be sending them to any of you guys, I would have framed them like I saw in an shadow box like In-Style suggested a few months ago…

country tunes

I think that one of my favorite things about this time of year is all of the wonderful movies that join the box office.  What better way to take your mind off the cold weather of January than to eat popcorn, drink a fountain coke, and see a good movie?  While in Midland, TX with some of my best friends the other weekend, we saw Gwenyth’s most recent flick, Country Strong.  Not only we were all TOTALLY obsessed with the movie, but the songs as well.  We listened to the soundtrack non-stop for the remaining of our trip.  I loved…

It was hard to pick my favorite song because I really do love them all, but the video I posted is of “Give in to Me” which was sung by Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund (a total dream boat).  If you haven’t seen the movie, I definitely recommend it!
