Behold, the Citizens of Humanity Hutton Wide Leg Jean (cue the sound of angels singing) – my favorite go-to pair of jeans since I got them in the Dark Paris Wash this past fall.  At first I thought, “high-rise, wide-leg…um, can I pull these off?”  It was kind of like when I told my friends that I wasn’t cool enough to wear skinny jeans sophomore year of college… I’ve always had a hard time breaking out of the familiar, especially with jeans being so expensive.

BUT, these jeans are honestly the most flattering pair I have ever owned.  I originally got them for casual Fridays at work because they are more sleek and tailored that my skinny jeans, but not I pair them with anything and wear them all the time.  Yes, they are definitely high-rise, but not in a mom-ish awkward kind of way – they actually look great with shirts tucked in (anything from silky blouses to fitted t-shirts) and I’ve worn tons of blazers and cardigans with them too.  In my mind they are a classic (not trendy) pair if you are looking for a pair of jeans on the “nice” side.  Warning: they are superrrr long, which is great for me because I’m tall and can still wear my 4″ heels but may not be so ideal for someone on the short side…

So here’s my dilemma – because my current pair is so dark, I want to get the same style but in a lighter was for spring/summer but I’m torn between these two washes above.  Thoughts? Option 1: Tide, Option 2: Paradise.  I really need help with this debacle – any and all suggestions are welcome and very much appreciated!

  1. PARADISE! And ps, love these. In fact, might have to get a pair myself. Have been looking for a good wideleg in a light wash for summer time fun.
