Happy Friday

July 29, 2011

And it couldn’t have come any faster.  I wish casual Friday meant jorts were office appropriate… I really like the pale brownish-grey color of this girl’s sweater, looks like it would go with a lot.  Can’t wait to be outside all weekend – I feel like I have to spend Saturday and Sunday warming my bones that became frozen from my freezing cold office air conditioning.  Texas is hot but comeon.  And I’m rambing.  Hope you all have a good one!   Oh oh oh, P.S. Weekend Wear of Fall

July 28, 2011

Has everyone creeped on the new fall stuff for J.Crew?  It’s been the buzz of the blogsphere for a few days and I’m guilty of having scrolled through the new items several times already.  The favorites everyone seems to be talking about are the bright dahlia (purply-pink) cafe capri pants and all the splashes of leopard (blazer, sweaters, skirts, bags, etc.).  And I’m jazzed about all that goodness, too – I’ve built a nice “mother may I” list already… But I think it’s pretty telling that the items I am most pumped about are part of the J.Crew Weekend section… Don’t…

But I think it’s pretty telling that the items I am most pumped about are part of the J.Crew Weekend section… Don’t get me wrong, I love getting dressed for the office each day and “pencil skirt” is still my middle name – but on the weekends, I run errands, lounge and try to do a whole lot of nothingness.  And I prefer to do this nothingness is the most comfortable (but still cute) clothing I can find (remember the weekend pants?)… Even though it wont be cold enough in the Dallas to wear most of my faves above, maybe they’ll be on sale by the time I need them.  The poncho hoodie in black is really calling my name.  Oh and I just threw in that denim vest for funsies – I think it’s wicked cool and maybe I’ll be brave enough to try it this fall

Chic Skulls

July 27, 2011

I distinctly recall having a conversation with someone about skull/jolly roger jewelry and deciding that maybe it was a little more “out” than “in.”  Welp, changed my mind after I seeing the turquoise Aurélie Bidermann skull bracelet included in The Love List’s arm party round up and spotting Chiara of The Blonde Salad wearing both a Gus Bijoux and LeiVanKash skull bracelet…  Should have known better than to assume that skull accessories were out!  I’m thinking that one of these above options would be a nice compliment to my other arm accessories – I like that they all have a…

I’m thinking that one of these above options would be a nice compliment to my other arm accessories – I like that they all have a dainty quality that make them more feminine than scary or goth-ish.

Happy Birthday, Andria!

July 26, 2011

Happy birthday to my sweet friend, Andria!  She’s the “oldest” of all my friends and also the tiniest – I wish I could put her in my pocket 🙂  Whenever I see a golden retriever or a package of lifesavers gummies I think of her… My former roomie, she makes wicked good toxic lemonade and her homemade popcorn was a go-to when we were at school. I hope you had an amazing day, An!  This pretty cake covered in baby gold stars was calling your name – so wish I could have celebrated with you today!! Love and miss, twin!…

Lilac Lips

July 26, 2011

Gaah, I just kind of knew that J.Crew creating a blog (posted about here) was going to be the cats meow in more ways than one.  I know that I am not the only one who flips through a J.Crack catalogue wondering, “what is that stunning lip color on that models lips?  Because I must have it in my possession so that I can magically look exactly like her”…right?  Because this happens pretty much every time those guys release a new catalogue and I get jelly-jel-jealous every. single. time.  But this might be one of my most favoritest lip colors…

SO here is where this little bloggie of theirs realllyy comes in handy.  They actually write about the lip colors origin – brand and color.  So that I no longer have to go stalking the internet in hopes of getting a lead on something that I am sure will change my little life.  And their most recent posting does just that, tells me the pretty pale pinky lilacy lip color’s deets.  So that I may purchase it myself.  Say hello to Illamasqua’s Liv.  The describe it as a soft, lavender pink with a matte finish.  Unfortunately, I must not have been the only one after this color because there is a waiting list.  Lets just hope that its a short wait.  I have a good feeling about this lip color.
