Torture by Chanel is the best

July 26, 2011

So I know that swearing on the blog isn’t the most polite, politically correct or proper thing to do but I saw this little squishy doggie on Diary of The Coveteur (their behind the scenes tumblr with images and out-takes accompanied by hilarious captions) and kind of fell in love with him.   He belongs to Anita Ko, LA jewelry designer, and here’s what she said about him: “This is my boy OZZY. He’s a star in LA. He’s a total prince. He loves cashmere and uses mink coats as blankets. If I’m ever looking for him around the house…

If I’m ever looking for him around the house he’s usually sleeping on a pile of fur coats, on my velvet Gucci blazer or lying out by the pool.”  Stop it.  I’m dying over this precious diva pup.  F* the leash indeed.

If you haven’t checked out the diary/tumblr yet, do it.  It’ll make you want to be besties with Erin and Stephanie and obsess over Jake’s photography even more than you thought possible.

west elm goes global

July 25, 2011

West Elm’s latest collection is one for the books with its global vibe.  All unique eclectic objects gathered from markets and workshops from around the world.  Makes me even more impressed by West Elm.  I swear that they get better and better every day.  The collection is new as of last week and includes things like hand embroidered one of a kind quilts from India.  No two are alike.  These might be my favorite thing in the collection.  I would love to buy one to use as a throw.  You can never have enough pretty blankets for the couch, right?!…

The collection also includes hand carved wood pieces from India like the coffee table in the first picture as well as dhurrie upholstered ottomans (last picture).  Has anyone seen these pieces in person?  I am dying to go into our Dallas store to see how everything looks.  Considering how amazing their styling is in these pictures, I know that they will look even better in person!  I loove a good handmade piece and even more so, I love supporting other country’s talents.

Hara Donuts

July 25, 2011

The donut love continues – I seriously hope I never grow out of my love for them.  While creeping around Pinterest yesterday (literally searching “dounts”) I stumbled on an image of Hara Donuts, a Japanese chain of stores.  I was so drawn to the clean white interiors and aborable logo and graphics that I had to do some googling.   Unfortunately, the Hara website is all in Japanese (duh) so I couldn’t take full advantage of their adorable-looking site – but I did learn from some other web resources that all the donuts are made with soy-based ingredients…. Not sure…

Not sure what those would taste like but I’m sure they are a bit healthier than what I like to eat on the weekends.  And how outstanding is their to-go packaging (second to last image)?? Almost as cute as the hand-drawn sketches they use for all their graphics…
