And HOW!

October 31, 2011

How did we go from celebrating an engagement with mini horses covered in glitter to a divorce filed on all hallows eve?  Those of you that know me put up with my unwarranted affection and adoration for the Kardashian clan.  Something about them is endearing to me, ok? Even though Kim has never been my favorite and I thought her wedding was a complete circus, I was still rooting for her marriage to Kris be as bliss-filled as Khloe and Lamar’s seems to be…  Maybe a third some-day wedding will be charm?  Until then, I wonder what she’ll do with…

Lo & Sons NEW colors + styles

October 31, 2011

One of mine and Sally’s favorite bag companies, Lo & Sons, has just released new styles and new colors to their website!  If you’re not familiar with the brand already, Lo & Sons was founded by an inventive and frequently traveling mother (Lo) and the help of her two sons (Derek and Jan)…  The two sons worked together to make their mother’s dreams of creating a stylish, functional and light weight travel bags a reality.  I die over their story 🙂  The line of bags came to fruition after one and half years of work with the release of the…

(Travel Tote) and the O.G. (Overnight & Gym Bag).  Both bags were immensely popular – just take one look at the craftsmanship, details and specs and you’ll know why – but clearly the Lo and her sons had bigger things in mind for their company!

As of today, Lo & Sons has brought amazing additions to their website: the classic O.G. bag now comes in a variety of colors (more choices for those of you who want more than basic black), the O.G. is offered in a smaller size, and four (4!) new styles of bags were added to the family – even one for men!  This excites me.  A lot.  Hurry over to their site and find your perfect “take everywhere” bag before all the new colors and style get scooped up (two of the O.G. bag colors are already sold out!).

Don’t freak out over the prices, you deserve to splurge on these bags trust me, AND you can get 35% off with the Share & Save promotion the Lo & Sons team is offering right now (read more about it here).  Happy shopping, lovies!

Pretty Skulls?

October 31, 2011

Last night one of our dogs came in with something huge in his mouth.  After fighting him to drop the thing we figured out that it was some piece of an animal.  I’m sounding calm about this now but was on the verge of throwing up/screaming at the sight of the thing last night.  We’re pretty certain that it was a coyote skull.  Not just the bones though, there was blood on it.  And maybe even an eyeball  I think our (so called) sweet little Camper killed a coyote :/ Yikes.  Maybe he was just trying to get into the…

Needless to say, I still can’t get the thought/sight out of my mind.  I don’t handle blood, guts, or anything yucky very well.  In the spirit of Halloween and to try to change my gross thoughts into good thoughts, here are some pretty skulls for your viewing pleasure on this Halloween day.

Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2011

Boo – Happy Halloweenie, everyone!! Kind of scary how this holiday snuck up on me (see what I did there? Scary, hahaha, I’m a hoot).  I won’t be dressing up this year – the Miss. Piggy costume will have to wait till Halloween 2012 – but the air is super crisp this morning and I’m definitely in a pumpkin / black cat / skull / pumpkin food kind of mood.  Sally and I might have to get ambitious tonight and make some easy pumpkin bread or Kerbey Lane pumpkin pancakes to celebrate… I’m curious – what are YOU all dressing up…

I’m curious – what are YOU all dressing up in this year for Halloween?  I’ve got a feeling there are some pretty creative holiday looks out there I should be aware of… Any of you playing hookie from the costumes like me?  Anyone else feel like buying a sick amount of Halloween candy to hoard from now till February because you live in an apartment and won’t be having trick-or-treaters?  Glad I’m not the only one!

Currently Watching: Casper

October 31, 2011

What else would I be doing on the eve before Halloween?  I bought the DVD for Casper in college and have never regretted it… Although the special effects aren’t stellar, the 1995 movie will always be a classic – I adore the animation (Casper is precious), the perfect autumn setting in Friendship, Maine, the father-daughter relationship story line that involves a mystery (duh) but a deeper and more endearing underlying plot…   But my favorite part of the film is the love story. But my favorite part of the film is the love story. It doesn’t get much better than this quote from Casper to Kat (Christina Ricci – loving her in Pan Am), “If I tell you I love you can I keep you forever?”  Melting.  And who didn’t have a crush on Devon Sawa in the 90’s?  Don’t even get me started on Now and Then

Who’s ready for Halloweenie tomorrow?!
