Hermes Cigar Tray + Indian Winter

Two weeks ago while I was waiting to get my eyelashes dyed at Osgood O’Neil (go see Miss. Roxanne, she is a wizard with the lashes – best dye job in Dallas ever), I quickly flipped through the December issue of GQ.  There wasn’t a fashion mag in site, I love the graphics in men’s magazines and Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon were on the cover. Done and done.  Aside from the studs on the cover and the “men of the year inside,” I was loving the annual gift guide suggestions they were throwing out… My favorite was to gift…

Aside from the studs on the cover and the “men of the year inside,” I was loving the annual gift guide suggestions they were throwing out… My favorite was to gift an Hermes cigar ashtray for use as a valet tray.  You know, a catch-all for guys to put their keys, stray change, what-have-you in.  Love the suggestion for guys but I’d actually much rather have one for myself.  Like the scarves, Hermes makes their porcelain cigar trays intricate and beautiful, with designs changing throughout the year and signature gold or silver cigar divots on either side of the tray.  Can you image actually using the $550+ trays for their intended purpose?  If I ever saw someone ashing into something so expensive and stunning I think I would have a heart attack.

Annnnnd, I’ve always love the Hermes Indian Winter ad campaign from fall/winter 2008-2009 – too much love to not include some favorite images.  So snowy but cozy and I want to pet those animals!

  1. Something about a lady dressed head to toe in Hermes pulling on a musk ox or yak or whatever that has an Hermes bag and saddle strapped to it amuses me to no end.

Oh, and yes, I've also been in Hermes, lusting over these trays as the perfect catchall in our entry way. Too bad the one I spotted that I REALLY liked was $650. I had to read the tag twice to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

  2. I was in the Hermes store yesterday and posted about wanting one of their ashtrays in my weekend recap this morning…ESP, my friend. They're so pretty.
