DVF + Gap Kids

I just searched the internets high and low to find this here video on the DVF + GapKids collaboration to embed in this post but no such luck.  So you’re just going to have to scoot yourself over to DVF’s site to watch the details on the the latest collaboration awesome.  Yes, that’s right, Diane von Furstenberg has teamed up with Gap Kids to create a collection that hits stores March 15th.  The collection will feature her signature bright prints in classic silhouettes like the iconic shirt dress as well as rompers for little girls and playdresses.  All in sizes newborn through 14.  Thank god we have a little sister who still fits into Gap Kids so someone in the family can reap the benefits of this jazz fest that will be going on.

Diane always says it best, “A little girl, the minute she is born, she is already the woman she will be.  So to empower a little girl is to empower the woman she will become.”  You go Glen Coco! (Mean Girls, anyone?)

Despite my excitement over the collaboration, I am a little concerned about a few things…1. Why didn’t she do this with Gap womens!?  2. Do you think I could force myself into the size 14?  3. Would it be weird if I bought clothing for children I will have in the future?  You know, as an investment of sorts.

This collaboration is genius! And I too am wondering why she didn't do a line for adult Gap (Why Dianne?). Also, if it makes you feel any less weird, I have a friend who scooped up a ton of the Missoni for Target little girls clothes for her "future daughter"….and no, she was not pregnant when she did this. So I say go ahead and buy for your future fashionista!

Sorry, they only carry sizes newborn to 14… you could try Sears. Joking of course, and I second Caroline's notion- always be prepared. xx janel

I am so excited to shop her collection for my 14 month old daughter Elle! Good thing I am on spring break that week so no work for me which means a day of shopping!! I also was wondering why she didn't do a women's collection as well. Gap Womens in my opinion has gone down hill and I think this would have been a great way to turn it around for Gap. Oh well, at least all the mini me's will be keeping it classy! lol
