Fornasetti Faces

I’m still on my black and white kick.  And I’m completely captivated by the old-world face of the woman on most all Fornasetti designs. Piero Fornasetti created more 11,000 items, with more than 500 variations of the woman, a face he found in a 19th century magazine. Incredible.  I love that there is someting distinctly modern about the pieces even though they are drawn with an old technique.  Kind of dark and moody but fresh at the same time.  Plus the woman on the objects is stunning…  Ideally, I’d love the first pillow shown above – with the reversible moon sides…

Ideally, I’d love the first pillow shown above – with the reversible moon sides – in my bedroom to tie the whole black and white scheme together… The pieces aren’t cheap but they are timeless.  How epic would it be to have a collection of plates displayed on the walls of a dining room? Best art installation ever if you ask me.
