Styled by Lindsay | Sadie & Stella

June 28, 2012

It’s a very small world…  When I reached out to Lindsay to contribute to this series all I knew was that I love her blog, Sadie & Stella, that she has killer taste when it comes to interiors and her writing is hilarious.  Just a simple blogger crush…  Lindsay put two and two together and realized that hello, not only did the three of us grow up in Kansas City, but we also all graduated from the same all-girls high school.  Get out!  No wonder I felt such a connection to her and every single image she pins to her Pinterest.…

Get out!  No wonder I felt such a connection to her and every single image she pins to her Pinterest.  Girl also likes cocktails, vampy nail polish, and using words like “glammy.”  Little does she know I am going to force her to be my new internet best friend…  I mean, I kind of have to after she completely rocked She Wishes She Was Wearing with this dual outfit below and fab answers to the questions of style.  Enjoy!

QUESTIONS of STYLE:

.Describe your personal style in five words or less:  Glammy colorful casual chic. How is that for an oxy moron?

.Who/What inspires your personal style, influencing what you’re drawn to and what you end up wearing?  As weird as it sounds, interiors inspire my personal style. The mixing and matching of patterns and colors is what I am drawn to within interiors and is therefore integrated into my final looks.

.What is an item you cannot live without or what are some of your wardrobe essentials?  An item I cannot live without would be my neutral silk draped blazer. It has a motorcycle jacket neckline and is adorned with bronze hardware. All of the hard elements are juxtaposed with a blush color and feminine fabric. Love. Carries me through from day to night.

.What is your most recent purchase?  A silk green floral print satin mini dress with a ruffle tier bodice. Adorbs.

.Where have you found some of your most treasured style items?  I have to say, Etsy is my jam for unique jewelry. I am totally into the painted rhinestone statement necklace craze. My favorite go to stores are: J.Crew as a staple for my daytime office look and I have really been rocking BCBG Max Azria for my nighttime looks. My number one most favorite designer right now is none other than my KC girl, Kate Spade.

.What is your go-to jewelry routine?  Mix and match of all metals. This is a must for me. You got it. Layers of David Yurman gold and silver and my tortoise oversized Michael Kors watch.

.What are some of your make-up must haves?  My Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. I am not a foundation fan, so this provides perfect sheer coverage for me. Also love my Too Faced blush/skin highlighter, High Beam Luminizer by Benefit, and Xen Tan Self Tanner

.If you could meet any designer who would it be and why?  If I could meet any designer it would be Christian Louboutin and only because I need to meet the man behind the sexiest shoe ever made. Seriously. Those red soles fill my soul.

.What’s the best style advice you’ve ever given or received?  Be unique. Be yourself. I am sure other people say that, but I just made it up. I am all into creativity and unconventional style. It is great to take inspiration from others but always be true to yourself and your style comfort level.

Loved this little sign-off for Lindsay too much to not include: “Thank you so much for having me my fellow former KC natives. I could not think of a better way to spend my Thursday morning having toast and chatting about fashion with some of my favorite fashionistas. Loves!”  Such a sweetie.  But damn her for fueling my need to shop with her incredible outfit items… Those Zara sandals?  Amaz.  Now head over to Sadie & Stella and enjoy the rest of your day.  Thank you, Lindsay!! xx and KC <3
