As much as I love the beginning of fall, I dread the end of summer.  Probably because I know that come November I will be whining about the fewer hours of sunlight during the day, the need to wear tights with all skirts and dresses, and the annoyance of layers worn in over-heated environments.  I also get deathly pale in the fall/winter months and miss running around in my jorts (jean/denim shorts) with tan legs like I do in the summer.  Why I stress about wardrobe predicaments and lack of skin pigmentation months before I know it will happen, I have…

TGIF and don’t forget to enter the Truffle giveaway here!!!

Python is like leopard in that it is a print that can be worn as a neutral color.  You can wear it year round and it goes with almost everything – mix it with other prints and bold or subtle color tones.  Python print (or snake-skin) will always be considered classic but has some edge to it… I’ll looking to buy a couple of the snake-y pieces as investment pieces for my closet that will be worn season after season.  Loving the idea of buying a soft and flowy chiffon dress or skirt now and wearing it all fall with a…

Styled by Erin | Apartment 34

Fresh and always evolving.  This is how I would best describe Erin and her blog Apartment 34.  Erin’s sweet lifestyle blog has been around for four years I have to applaud her for continually creating content that is always of the moment… If you are also a reader of hers you can probably agree that while her amazing style has been the consistency that keeps you coming back day after day, her taste has gone through various stages and continues to update depending on where Erin is in her life.  I love it! I love it! If blogs are suppose to be a branded representation of the author than Apartment 34 fits Erin to a T.  She also announced days ago that Apartment 34 will be undergoing a refresh to introduce a new look and new content.  I can’t wait to see what this smart and driven lady comes up with – especially when she notes that the refresh would include new ways to help others grow their businesses!  While we patiently wait to see the reveal, we can revel in Erin’s great style with the look she created today and what She Wishes She Was Wearing… Girl has me craving some pattern play!

QUESTIONS of STYLE:

.Describe your personal style in five words or less:  Casually sophisticated, high-heeled, hopefully timeless!

.Who/What inspires your personal style, influencing what you’re drawn to and what you end up wearing?  Lately I’ve been looking to fashion editors’ style for fresh inspiration. From Caroline Roitfeld, Taylor Thomassi Hill and Emmanuelle Alt to all the Russian Vogue ladies they constantly push the fashion edge but don’t bend to trends. I’m also in awe of it-girl Poppy Delivigne. She looks so at ease in every look she wears. And of course personal style bloggers always remind me to take a risk or two. 9 to 5 Chic and This Time Tomorrow are two of my must reads. Finally, I’m also a sucker for a good lookbook. Net-a-Porter, J.Crew and Madewell are always go-tos!

.What is an item you cannot live without or what are some of your wardrobe essentials?  My top three include dark skinny jeans, blazers and high heels! You look pulled together and classic every time you wear them.

.What is your most recent purchase?  THE dress to wear when I attend my first New York Fashion Week. I cannot reveal much more as it will make its debut next week!

.What is your go-to jewelry routine?   I’ve landed on a jewelry formula that I really don’t deviate from. I stick to one statement piece daily, be it an oversized watch, major necklace, or cocktail ring. I always wear simple earrings (studs, hoops or drops) and I apologize for anyone I offend, but I shun the arm party. It’s just not my thing.

.What are some of your make-up must haves?  I’ve recently discovered Jouer, a boutique makeup line at Nordstrom. Their tinted moisturizer, bronzers and lip glosses are just perfect. I’m also a true believer in red lipstick!  I live in Estee Lauder Red Velvet. All you need to add is a touch of mascara and blush and you’re immediately “done up!”

.If you could meet any designer who would it be and why?  This is such a toughie! There are so many designers that I really admire. If I had to choose I think I’d have to go with Alber Elbaz I love his humor, humble nature and how he talks about just wanting to make women feel like their most beautiful self! And who wouldn’t want to wear a Lanvin dress?

.What’s the best style advice you’ve ever given or received?  My current favorite style-related quote wasn’t said by a fashion maven but instead by influencer of modern civilization. “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” – Leonardo da Vinci. I’m trying to apply it as my new mantra for life in general! I also always advise my clients to find their style and dress according. Not every trend is appropriate for every person!

No one looks more at home in red lipstick than Erin – and I’m insanely jealous of how well she pulls it off!  I’m now dying to try out Jouer cosmetics thanks to her recommendation 🙂  Don’t worry Erin, you definitely nail your “timeless” aesthetic and I love the simplistic sophistication you live by (Leonardo knew what he was talking about!).  Thank you, Erin! xx
