Two weekends ago, Mary and I went on a little road trip from Dallas down to Houston for the store opening of Biscuit Home.  For those of you who are loyal readers of Bailey’s blog Peppermint Bliss, you already know all about Biscuit… Being the creative interiors genius that she is, Bailey and two of her darling friends, Christina and Isabel, decided to pull all their talents together to fill a void in the printed bedding market – a brand and company that went from a dream to reality in just a few short months.  The result?  A unique and…

The result?  A unique and thoughtful line of “delicious homegoods” sold in the Houston boutique and online.

After reading much of the behind the scenes action of what Biscuit would entail, I jumped at the chance to get one of the first looks at the store.  Both Mary and I were blown away – everything from the store-front signage (designed by Christina) to the original textiles (all artwork by Isabel) displayed with care throughout the well-designed space (hi, Bailey you rule) made us seriously tip our hats to what these ladies were able to accomplish all on their own.  The opening party was just what the store needed to christen it’s start… Guests sipped on Texas Biscuit cocktails of tequila infused with lime and jalapeno and delicious and artful “biscuit” themed treats by Truffleberry Market were almost too pretty to eat, but eat them we did and OMG were they amazing.

Only more amazing than the food and drinks was the Biscuit bedding itself… Each pattern tells a story and there is truly something to fit any design aesthetic.  The custom headboards, furniture, lighting, and accessories complete the story and make a one-stop-shop for any customer looking to transform a space.  The online shop is up and running so head over to pick out your own dreamy bedding!  I already have the taupe boarder euro shams in my shopping basket.

Bailey worked with famed photographer Gray Malin to spotlight his work as the first of many rotating artist in the store.  Thirty of Gray’s best pieces current grace the walls of the space and they could not have fit better with the bright and happy atmosphere – they truly complete the entire look.  Biscuit bedding + Maison Gray artwork = bedroom made in heaven.  Gray created this amazing video to capture his trip to his home state and the opening of Biscuit – watch it on his blog here!

Both Mary and I are already dying to make another trip to Houston – getting to spend time with Bailey, meeting her right hand ladies Christina and Isabel, getting to visit with Gray and his husband Jeff, and meeting all the other friends and family at the store opening was such a special experience.  If you live in Houston you must go check out the store!

  2. 1. you girls really take fantastic photos! I need to know what camera you use and if that fails, I may need classes from you too :) and 2. I've been madly following Biscuit's unveiling and I'm so incredibly excited about the online store because it may be a while before I get to visit the real one. Thanks for the beautiful review! X
