Gym Bag

Back around Thanksgiving time I came to the realization that I needed to get into a regular workout routine.  Not just to be in shape (that’s nice too), but for my sanity.  Anyone else ever feel this way?  Working as much as I do and then having this bloggie which is technically a third job, it is easy to feel a bit overwhelmed.  Exercising regularly has definitely helped to bring me back down to earth.  With a busy schedule, the only time I can gurantee to get a workout in is in the early mornings.  I have become a (hopefully)…

I have become a (hopefully) regular at my gym’s 6am classes which enables me to shower there (Kiehl’s shampoo and conditioner is involved) and go straight to work.

I loveee the feeling of getting my workout over with before I even start my day, but am still struggling with staying organized when packing a bag for those mornings where I get ready at the gym.  (My Lo and Sons OG bag is my jam when it comes to a work bag, but not enough room to squeeze morning gym acoutrements as well!)  I feel like I am always last minute throwing things into my big Longchamp or LeSportsac totes only to find that I forgot crucial items (deodorant, bra, younameit).  Not only that but my waterbottle constantly spills all in my bag after working out. (UGH!)  This lack of organization is enough to drive me crazy and unorganization in the mornings is the worst.  Thank goodness for Real Simple never leading me astray and introducing me to possibly the most visually appealing gym bag I have seen in awhile.  Enter the Three Quilted Gym Bag by Clava.  Pretty enough that you don’t feel like a hot mess rushing in the mornings, and it is fulll of “drop pockets” for organizing toiletries and interior pockets.  The nylon texture of the bag also makes for easy cleanup should you have an accidental spill or two.  The bag comes in three colors – khacki, black and navy and I think I am partial to the navy.  What do you think?  Have I mentioned that the latest Real Simple offers a discount for this puppy?  Enter REAL20 when checking out at Clava to receive a 20% off discount on the $185 bag.

Also, if you aren’t in need of a gym bag as desperately as I am…be sure to visit Clava anyway.  They have so many other great bags for every single use you can imagine.  I’m digging this market tote which would also be a great pool/beach bag.

  1. Great article! I think that a lot of people go through the same thing you do. I tried packing my bag at night, and it made a huge difference. The less excuses (like an unpack gym bag) I have to go to the gym in the morning, the more likely I am to go.

  2. Of course you're writing about a gym bag. One needs one of those when they attend the gym regularly – like I should be. Maybe if I buy myself a bag, it will make me go more often?

  3. I love this article! Just this morning, I was scrambling around trying to pack my bag so I could go to the gym after work (opps, I missed my alarm again for a morning workout). I always end up forgetting my lock or headphones, which ends up making me so frustrated that I just want to skip the gym altogether. However, after reading this article I am definitely going to gym after work because like you said, a great workout helps keep me sane.
