Fun fact: I am kind of a baby whisperer. And not just self proclaimed – ask anyone. This comes from the fact that I am the oldest child in our family with more younger siblings than you can count. Oh, and possibly the fact that I spend my days with little ones. When our youngest siblings were babies, we were Junior High age and practically little mommas ourselves. One of my most favorite things to help my mom with way back when was dressing the babies and picking out their outfits each day. Our mama has always had a knack for finding the most unique and precious baby clothes that you would never see on any other child. Oilily was one of her favorites and we pretty much wore the brand until we physically outgrew it. Even to this day I love children’s clothing and dream about how I will dress my babies someday. Last weekend while at Alt Bailey and I had a serious conversation about where she likes to buy Gracie’s clothes which was then proceeded by some serious online shopping for baby clothes. See what I mean? Love it.
When Jenni Kayne (fashion designer of her namesake brand and creator of the iconic D’Orsay flats that I must make my own) and her friend Estee Stanley created Ladys & Gents, I became instantly obsessed. A website dedicated to photos of little ones in their element sporting some of the more adorable looks you ever did see – what’s not to love? At an age where confidence is without question and silly adult inhibitions are completely lacking, a child can be quite style savvy and opinionated when it comes to what they wear. I love how you can even see their little personalities through the pictures. Ladys & Gents is an instant new favorite.
Also, can I mention how much I admire Jenni Kayne the woman? An amazing fashion designer, mama of two, and curator of now 2 successful and beautiful blogs (rip + tan is her other fabulous blog)… talk about a super woman.
