Sports Gear

When Molly and I moved into our apartment, we realized that we lived just minutes from a Pure Barre Studio. I was feeling as if I was in a total slump with my workouts and have known Barre to be a great workout especially for “big booty” girls like ourselves. Shortly after school started, I started taking up regular Barre classes and am now obsessed. The workout is right up my alley – not too much cardio, the class goes by fast, and you feel sore which assures me that it must be working. Once Molly left her day job, she…

Once Molly left her day job, she jumped on the Pure Barre bandwagon with me and were now both regulars. Last week I went 7 days (!!), which is a personal record for me. I can tell you right now that never in my life have I enjoyed a workout so much that I wanted to go every day of the week, including weekends.

With as much as we have been working out, its safe to say that I have exercise apparel on the brain. Especially since I only do laundry every two weeks (if I’m lucky). I definitely own enough workout tops (these tops by Gwyneth are our new personal favorites – love the longer length since we’re so tall!) to get me through my usual two weeks before laundry, but pants are where I am lacking. Anthropologie recently added a slew of workout gear and I can’t get enough of their cool printed pants. Some of the pants they have are by a brand called Onzie that makes SO many cool patterns. Definitely adding those to the top of my workout wear wish list!

  1. I am a huge Pure Barre fan too and am always looking for new gear for class! Love your picks and am so excited that Anthropologie now has workout clothes!

  2. If you don’t do laundry often, I definitely recommend merino wool workout gear. It never smells. I can workout in the same pants and top every day for a week with no problems. And it naturally wicks away moisture so you never get too hot. Ibex, Icebreaker, and Smartwool are all good options, though I prefer Ibex. Not as cute and fun as Anthro prints, but totally practical.

  3. May I ask you which size you are wearing when it comes to old navy rockstar jeans?
I am also a ” big booty” girl 😉 and you could not get the item in germany…
(I am planing to get one from ebay…)

    xx mia

  4. Molly & Sally – great workout options. I had no idea Anthro carried workout apparel? how behind the times am I?? BTW – I think our Moms know each other in KC…..the whole J Crew connection. 😉 xx

  5. I love love love Pure Barre. And your blog. Such an awesome surprise to see two of my favorites in one spot, espically on a Monday. Here’s to a little LTB and retail therapy. Xo

  6. How tall ARE you two? It would really help me when I am trying to picture your items on myself. I had you both pegged about 5’2″ or 5’3″

And I LOVE those Lucy socks. The best.

  7. i LOVE pure barre. the class goes by super fast b/c it forces you to concentrate on your movements. love. love. love.

    xx.

  8. I sort of did the same thing! When a pilates studio opened up in my building I immediately signed up and am now hooked! It’s all about convenience for me. If I had to drive far to a gym or studio…I’d never go! Wasn’t aware that Anthro now sells workout wear…I’m in trouble! Love that sports bra as well.
