Ornament-gifting for Christmas is our mom’s niche, if you will. Her specialty. Every year for Christmas it is a tradition that she gives us each an ornament. The point of this is so that when we some day have our own trees to decorate (which I guess technically, Molly and I do now!), we will already have our very own collection of ornaments and not have to go out and buy some random boxed set of matching ornaments. She also puts our name and the year (very small of course) somewhere on the ornament so that we can remember how old we were when we received them. It’s been a lot of fun over the years to see each of our ornament collections gown and I think that she has as much fun picking them out as we do getting them! I mean, look at how many adorable ornaments there are out there. Each is equally unique and somehow pertains to us as individuals and what we like or what makes her think of us. It’s little traditions like these that I can’t wait to pass on to my own kids someday. Ornaments make for each and special gifts…maybe you can start someone their own collection this year!
