(Bright) Sporty Style

You guys might get sick of hearing us say it, but we live in activewear. So much so that it feels more natural for us to take and share pictures wearing our favorite workout gear than it does the outfits where we are all dressed up with heels and such. You guys might get sick of hearing us say it, but we live in activewear. So much so that it feels more natural for us to take and share pictures wearing our favorite workout gear than it does the outfits where we are all dressed up with heels and such. Over the past year we both have built quite a collection of great active gear basics—pants, crops, tops, and jackets in solid colors that we could mix and match. Lately we’ve been feeling like spicing up our plain pieces with more bold, bright, and crazy separates that while a little more wacky and wild, make us all the more excited to wear them for working out or lounging. Nordstrom has an insane collection of familiar activewear products with brands like Nike, Under Armor, North Face, and Hard Tail as well as new-to-us names like Zella, Karma, and Lole. Slowly but surely, we’ve been making a Nordstrom activewear wish list of pants and jackets and taking home favorites one at a time…if we’re going to make a habit of dressing sporty all the time, we might as well make things interesting and fun!

And because I know y’all will ask—yes, Blue really lets us put that coat/vest on him and he doesn’t hate it. It has cozy fleece that’s perfect for the 30 degree and windy weather we’ve been having in Dallas lately…and he looks like a superhero pup when he walks around with it on. Which is adorable.

This post was sponsored by Nordstrom, thank you so much for supporting the great companies that make A Piece of Toast Possible!

  1. your blog is SO CUTE and your pictures are GORGEOUS. You make workout clothes look fashionable. I would wear workout leggings all day everyday if I could because they’re super comfy and functional but still- at the end of the day they can’t be mistaken for anything BUT workout leggings. The only nice high fashion compromise I’ve found are the yoga leggings and yoga tops from KiraGrace. I would be hard pressed to find someone who thought I was wearing workout clothes and not high fashion items while wearing their stuff which is super nice.

  2. I’m obsessed with Molly’s outfit and your adorable puppy! Great post! PS I’ll never get tired of activewear posts. It’s so relatable (I say this completely clad in Lululemon clothes) 🙂

  3. First of all, your puppy is adorable. Secondly, I’m a blogger and have a blogger related question. Does Nordstrom not care that you just did a promo for Old Navy active wear? Isn’t it seen as a conflict of interest or something? Won’t both companies get upset you’re promoting a competitor’s line of clothing? Especially since you posted them just a week a part? Just wonder how you handle situations like this as I get concerned about losing credibility with advertisers.

  4. You guys look cute. Moon is adorable. I see you guys drink iced green tea. I’m having some as I read this.

  5. I love your fun, bright leggings! I currently only have black because I’m not very adventurous, but I’m definitely inspired to branch out a bit now!

  6. I totally believe that Blue enjoys wearing that jacket! My dog Blackie has a Pendleton coat and he barks and does his “happy dance” when we put it on him! On a different note, Zella has some really cute stuff!

  7. I am just developing a love for activewear and trying to grow my closet in that way. I’ve been ripping the sleeves off old t-shirts for the time being… your outfits look much cuter than mine! 😀
