For the Love of Stripes

Something about being in New York for Fashion week really gave me the urge to simplify my wardrobe. Kind of strange seeing as everything we seemed to see was anything but simple. However, I realized that the people and looks that stood out most to me and really appealed to me always seemed to be those that were the most simple and classic. Something about being in New York for Fashion week really gave me the urge to simplify my wardrobe. Kind of strange seeing as everything we seemed to see was anything but simple. However, I realized that the people and looks that stood out most to me and really appealed to me always seemed to be those that were the most simple and classic. Lately I have been overwhelmed by my closet and how much of it I don’t seem to wear, while there are other pieces that I practically wear to death. Pieces like my favorite long sleeved tees, skinny denim, and blouses layered under sweaters. These are the pieces that I want to invest in from here on out. On my list thus far are some solid blouses from Everlane, Rag and Bone black skinnies (I have yet to try Rag and Bone’s denim and feel like everyone loves it?!), and practically every tee that Hye Park and Lune makes.

I learned of Hye Park and Lune (started by model Hye Park) last week while clicking through the never-ending internet and have been dying for one of their striped tees ever since. I am actually kind of kicking myself that I didn’t order one before I go to San Fran this coming weekend – would have been perfect for their weather! On my radar is the Pluto long sleeved tee in red and navy stripe with a contrasting pocket. The color blocked, striped tee seems to have just the right amount of stretch and to be the perfect length- my pet peeve is tees that are too tight and short! My next favorites? The Crescent Raglan tee in navy and the Stella Short-Sleeve. All of the brands tees are sworn to be super soft and made in the USA. In my opinion there is nothing better than a super soft tee that you can’t help but wear over and over. Probably my most favorite pieces in my closet!

  1. I have the Neptune striped long sleeve in a size small/1 and was surprised by how oversized it was! I would go for the size 0. But it’s really soft and amazing – you should definitely order!
