Striped Sleeves

Lately I have been trying to invest in a whole lot of basics for my wardrobe. After handing off a whole lot of not-so basic tops to our mom to take home to our little sister, I have come to the conclusion that my money is much better spent on things I won’t tire of. I have also become the master of shopping the sales/promotions, which is totally the way to do things. This dress was bought on sale + an extra % off which made it a total steal. Plus who doesn’t want/need a sweatshirt dress in their wardrobe?…

Plus who doesn’t want/need a sweatshirt dress in their wardrobe? It really is one of the comfiest things I own and when I wore it to work you wouldn’t believe the amount of compliments I got on how “comfortable” I looked. Wait, maybe those weren’t compliments? Regardless, its the perfect dress to throw on with a pair of sneakers and great for those transitional months or my visits to San Francisco. Other basics I have my eye on (or in my shopping cart as we speak)? This in both white and grey – its an extra 30% off and I am desperate for some tees that I actually like and a pair of these – also on sale and I don’t own any black pumps. Pretty proud of my sale skills as of late!

  1. I feel the exact same way about how I have started to shy away from bright patterns and trying to have my closet consist of more neutral pieces that I can wear season after season. I have my eye on that J.Crew tunic t-shirt, looks like the perfect comfortable pieces that still looks a bit fancier than an everyday t-shirt.
I also love your circle necklace, I have noticed it in some of your other posts, it is so beautiful!

  2. I have this dress and LOVE it! Such an easy thing to throw on but still look put together. You’re so right about investing in basics… I’m on a mission to weed out my wardrobe this Spring.

  3. well you do look comfy .. but chic at the same time! love how you paired this dress with slip on sneakers! great sale find :)
