With August just days away, summertime and the window for wearing swimsuits seems to be coming to close. You might have already put away your suit for the season or you might be planning on being in or near a pool till mid-October (as is the case for most Texans) - whatever the case, it's not too early to start thinking about getting a fresh piece of swimwear for 2016. Think I'm talking crazy? Let me explain...Moda Operandi is hosting some of the best swimwear designers and their 2016 Resort Collections in their current trunkshow lineup. (keep reading to see some of my favorite suits on the site!)
Knowing that Cover Swim (the sun-conscious line of swimsuits and clothing by my friend Lisa) was going to be part of this round-up means that I’ve been watching the site like a baby hawk. Cover’s cool collab with GLASS – a men’s line of swimwear line by designer John Glass known for their inventive and bold prints – features three styles of suits and three fun prints. The Cover x GLASS suits are exclusive to Moda and my love for the suits makes me pretty positive I need one for myself. I already have a long-sleeve one piece suit by Cover (seen in the photo above from the collaboration with Gray Malin!) so I’m thinking the Nami one piece could be a fun and practical addition for me…
In addition to Cover, there are several other knock-out swimwear collections you need to take a look at. Marysia Swim (you know her best for her sweet scallop suits), Clover Canyon (bold and graphic prints galore), Made by Dawn (Cali cool meets sexy and feminine), and Cynthia Rowley (hello, her wetsuits? too good) are my other favorites with great options.
If you’re unfamiliar with how Moda Operandi works, most all the collections in the trunkshows are preorder – so you pay for half the price now, and once the item(s) are delivered you pay the remaining half. For the resort swim collections, the delivery times vary from August (yay that Cover comes early!) to end of fall/late spring (November through February). Each piece shows an estimated delivery date and the deposit amount.
