The other night I was flipping channels and landed on something amazing: Grease. I literally grew up on musical movies like Grease - my best friend and I perfected the hand jive (still such a relevant dance move) and I thought that Sandy was the prettiest thing on earth - Annie, and The Sound of Music so I was pumped. It's hilarious watching those Rydell High School seniors now because you pick up on all the things that went right over your head when you were little. Part of me sort of wishes that I had lived in the 50s...but I'm mostly content to study the time via movies.
While I’ve resigned myself to the fact never going to be a member of the Pink Ladies (those silk jackets, I still want one) there are times when I’ll happily get all dressed up and girly like my idol Sandy (pre black leather pants). This pale pink flounce dress by Cynthia Rowley is one of my most feminine pieces and I love the shape and movement it has. I also love that it acts as a blank canvas for accessories – I paired it with some of my favorite geometric Lulu Frost pieces but Sally has worn it with this necklace by Mignonne Gavigan and it looked fab.
Did I mention it’s a great twirling dress?
