What would you like to do before you die? What if you had to narrow it down to one thing and write it publicly on a wall? I found this "Before I Die..." wall in Houston but had seen one last spring in Dallas, too. Columns of lines with "Before I die I want to ____" are full of answers - most lines have been been written in chalk and erased and re-filled in many times over - some of which either really resonate or make you do a head scratch. For instance, "Before I die I want to live the dream" is something that quickly sums up what many people hope for. "Before I die I want to meet an alien" is a little more...specific. Getting to read what's import to others (examples: "marry Matt!" and "save a life") really made me think about what my one-liner "Before I die I want to ____" would be. I'm not sure I've totally figured it out. If there had been any readily available chalk, I probably would have scrawled "be completely content, happy, and in love." Any thoughts on what you would write?
Think it over and get back to me. In the meantime, I can talk about my love affair with this dress. If the stripe panel down the back looks vaguely familiar it’s because you saw the same stripe fabric in Monday’s post. The off-the-shoulder Johnny Top and this George Dress are both part of Troubadour’s fall collection. As I already mentioned on Monday, the brand has such a way with prints and patterns – I always end up coveting anything designer Lindsey comes up with. The George Dress is different than anything else in my closet because it’s the style of a fit and flare but has a midi-length skirt that’s not too full or flared…the overall look is sophisticated but the bold black and white pattern (and of course the stripes down the back) keep things fun and playful. I’m going to be in New York in a few weeks and think I’ll end up wearing this with a black blazer, tights, and booties for a night out.
So…anyone want to share your “Before I die I want to ____”? I’m all ears.
