Bailey’s Coastal Living Showhouse

November 11, 2015

I got to spend my actual birthday, October 21st, in Port Aransas, Texas with one of my very best friends. While we weren't sitting beach side, we did get to do something we both really love: work together. Bailey had the opportunity (re: exciting challenge) to design the the Coastal Living 2015 Showhouse and the two of us re-visited the home in Cinnamon Shores so she could shoot the video tours for the Coastal Living site and so I could take photos of the project for her portfolio.

The Showhouse project kicked off in mid-May, wrapped in early August, and was featured in Coastal Living’s November 2015 issue (which hit stands in early October). Basically, it was a very fast-paced and high-stress project. Even with the tight timeline, Bailey did what she does best and totally turned out something amazing…the home is nautical and comfortable but definitely not an average beach house. You can see the magazine’s images and read about the 2015 Coastal Living Showhouse project right here. I’ve of course poured over the November issue and I’d seen the finished house in August – a fast and furious visit that celebrated the house being open for tours – but it was great to come back and take-in home again with fresh eyes (and a camera lens).

I was really excited but also nervous to shoot the home…I don’t have a ton of experience photographing interiors and I wanted to make sure I captured the essence of the space and highlighted some of the great details that made the design so special. Bailey and I are notorious for wanting more! more! more! when it comes to taking images. What you see here are just a few of the final photos we selected from our visit. If you hop over to Bailey’s blog you can check out the four re-cap posts she did of the house. You’re going to see a lot more pictures and get a ton of information about what inspired each room/space, the materials and furniture used, decor pieces chosen, and more fun tidbits about the design process as a whole.
