My Holiday Ensemble

December 21, 2015

I wore this outfit Friday night and Saturday night. Is that considered to be a fashion faux paus? If so, I guess I don't really care. I bought this peplum top with the intention of wearing it to all the holiday parties on my calendar and since I saw different people both nights I figured, why not duplicate the ensemble head to toe! I'm completely obsessed with the top - which is by C/meo Collective - and I might even be buying it in white if I can find it in my size. From the skinny spaghetti straps and low back to the thick tie and sculptural hem, it's my idea of "girly" and festive. The best part about it is that the peplum is long in the front and back - making it an idea top to wear with my Spanx Faux Leather Leggings. You might remember me wearing the leggings around this time last year (herehere, and here)...happily, they are being worn again now that it's leather-pant-wearing-weather. What? You didn't know that was a thing?

A big thank you goes to Grace for introducing me to these faux-leather bad boys last year. But here’s the one thing, being that the leggings are Spanx, they are quite tight. Not in an uncomfortable way at all (the shaping waistband is amazing) but in a way that makes me feel like I need to cover my bum and upper thighs. Thus, long tops and sweaters are what I usually pair when I’m stepping out in the pants. Definitely packing them for Christmas in Kansas City and New Years in Aspen.

Not telling how many more times I’ll be copy/pasting this outfit, but I’m thrilled to be getting so many wears out of the new shirt and am glad it can be changed up with various accessories. With the higher neckline I’ve been having fun swapping out bold earrings – the ones here are borrowed from Mignonne Gavigan and for being such showstoppers I’ve got to say they are so comfortable and super lightweight. It will be sad to be say goodbye to them soon but I scooped up these blingy babies in white the other day! It’s impossible for me to not shop for myself this time of year…raise your hand if you’re guilt of doing the same.

  1. I love this look molly! You look so pretty and chic. I love that its a holiday look that isnt sparkly or red 🙂 also, what mascara are you wearing here? Im in the market for a new one and i love the way your lashes look!

  2. I definitely know what you mean about you feeling the need to cover your bum (and other parts). I saw these on someone recently and they didn’t and it wasn’t good haha. I feel that way when I wear certain yoga pants. This top is the perfect remedy to that “situation” – you look amazing 🙂 enjoy the holidays! Aspen sounds awesome.
