Join Us + NM Last Call Studio!

March 28, 2016

And just like that, Easter came and went and suddenly I'm wearing tons of white and white sandals. In truth, I wear tons of white year round (my white shirt addiction has been well documented) but it feels even more appropriate now that spring is in full swing. To celebrate the season, I'm really excited to be partnering with Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio to host the "Spring Fling" sale event at the Houston location! This Thursday evening, each of the 13 Last Call Studio locations will be offering the same amazing discount deals - it's a great time to see and shop some of the biggest trends for spring and save while you do so.

For anyone unfamiliar with Last Call Studio, it offers luxury merchandise at a great value (with daily savings up to 60% off at all times!) and stores feature the very latest trends and must-haves direct from the designers you love - at prices you'll adore. Brands like Joie, DVF, Equipment, Stuart Weitzman, Theory, kate spade new york, and tons more.

I always find things I love when I'm at Last Call Studio so I can't wait to be part of this event and help you all style and select favorites perfect for the season...(read more to get all the details)

Here are all the event details:

.Place & Time: Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio (2315 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX), 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31st. ALL Last Call Studio locations are having the same amazing event, find a store near you here!

.Shop & Save: Get 30% off Everything for Men, Accessories, Shoes, Jewelry & Handbags PLUS an extra 10% off during event hours only! No code needed when you shop in stores – the offer is valid just by attending and shopping in-store during the event hours.

.Meet & Style: I’ll be at the event and available to help style, discuss this season’s trends, or answer any styling questions! What are the trends of the season you ask? Boho Chic (for the fashion-forward free spirit), Feminine Details (pretty florals, ruffles, & embroidery), White Hot (Bold. Immaculate. Sophisticated.), Orange to Red (from warm coral to radiant poppy), Bare Shoulders, Crochet & Lace, and Shoes That Wrap & Tie (a scrappy-go-lucky perspective)

As you can see from the outfit I scooped up for this post, I’m all feeling the “white hot” and “shoes that wrap & tie” trends! *One thing to note, not all the pieces I am wearing here are available online but I found them all at the Houston Last Call Studio where I’m hosting the event!! Just all the more reason to come in and shop – there’s always tons of great things that don’t end up online but are at the store locations.

Don’t live close to any of the Last Call Studio locations? I’m bummed you’ll be missing out…but I’ll be sharing some of the fun from the event and you can follow @apieceoftoast on Instagram (the event hashtags are #LCFinds  #LCSpringFling) so you can feel like you’re there!

I'm semi sad to be heading back to San Fran (on a plane right now) after such an amazing weekend in Ft. Worth, TX but I'm excited that I have something super fun to look forward to this week...my friend Cristina of Mi Golondrina is coming to SF for a trunk show at St. Frank and I'll be hosting the shindig with them this Wednesday night! This + That // Sales + Steals

March 25, 2016

Another Friday, another Sales + Steals for ya. This week I feel like I found some really, really great basics and classic pieces which is what I am steering towards these days. Good finds aside, I could not be more excited to celebrate Easter this weekend with family and our baby bunnies (dogs) as I call them. The weather is suppose to be sunny and warm which makes for lots of time outside relaxing and basking as if we were one of the pups ourselves. Thank goodness for the warm Texas weather welcoming me and the hubs with open arms! If you're celebrating, have a happy hoppy Easter! (read on to get the sales + steals)

P.S. Not going to lie, the hands and faces blouse is a total copy of pieces by VIVETTA (more greatness here)…but the price is making it almost impossible not to scoop up.

This + That:

Some Sales:

  • Ann Taylor: 40% off almost everything through Sunday with code MARCH20 (this is a great twist on a white tee)
  • Banana Republic: 40% off your purchase with code BRSPRING (this top seems to be a no brainer and the price is SO good)
  • BCBG: Take an extra 30% off select dresses (I love that this dress could be so easily dressed up or down for summertime)
  • Calypso St. Barth: Enjoy 50% off select full priced jewelry + enjoy an extra 30% off new sale styles (I love the Shy by Sydney Evan line and am a big fan of this evil eye necklace and these shorts are all kinds of fun)
  • GAP: Extra 25% off your purchase with code HOPTOIT (I tell myself that I will be smart with my purchases and order more neutrals so as not to “get sick” of things in my closet and get more wear out of them, and then I see this top in bright orange and can’t resist. Am I obsessed with pajamas? Maybe so, because these are a size too big and I still couldn’t help myself)
  • J.Crew: 25% off your purchase with code SHOPMORE (there isn’t a beach cover up on J.Crew that I don’t love – specifically thisthis, and this. Does anyone else feel like they need to replace their cover ups every few years?)
  • J.Crew Factory: 50% off in stores and online, including off of lots of new arrivals! (occasionally I will roam over to the girls section of the site to see the cuteness and there is lots of it – like this in both colors)
  • kate spade new york: 25% off all sale items with code HOPTOIT! Ends Monday 3/28
  • LOFT: 30% off almost everything + 40% off select spring styles (these look adorable on all of the models on the website and I can’t get enough of chunky heels this season)
  • Lo & Sons: Up to 40% off select styles!
  • Old Navy: 30% off your order, including clearance! (my friend Hannah got this dress and its adorable on. And my favorite new sleep set comes in a new print which I also can’t resist:)
  • Saks off 5th: Friends and Family – up to 70% off! (sometimes, actually too often, I forget about Off 5th, and they have such good finds. I love a crisp white sweater like this one for spring)
  • Serena & Lily: 30 to 60% off select fabulous finds…(obsessed with these European bistro stools!)
  • TRUFFLE: 20% off the clarity pouch collection now through 4/4! Use code SPRING20 at checkout.
  • Urban Outfitters: 20% off all dresses!
  • Victoria’s Secret: $15 orders of $100+ with code SPRING2016
  • West Elm: Up to 30% off bedroom furniture.

Chambray + Denim | Styled Thrice

March 24, 2016

I woke up on the "wrong side of the bed" this morning. Well that's actually not true. I woke up really late but that's only because the three alarms I set (I'm one of those special people who needs multiple) never went off...because I opted to start the new iPhone software update before going to bed and my phone never went back to regular mode. Ugh. I'm slightly annoyed that my morning has been thrown off but kind of glad that I can blame the extra amount of zzzz's on something other than hitting my snooze too many times.

But even with the late sleep factor, I'm really excited about this Thursday because 1) Biscuit is hosting an amazing flower crown making class tonight (there's still time to sign up and attend here!) and 2) today is the third and final chambray top and denim jeans outfit I'm sharing this week!

I know these little thematic posts (the last one I did like this was for my favorite open-front sweater) are kind of dorky but they kind of make sense to my brain – or at least to my style sensibility. I realize that part of my job involves buying new pieces more than the average woman, but I recognize that practice isn’t super relatable. My hope is that by styling one sweater three ways or showcasing one trend in multiple variations, that these outfit posts seem a little more authentic and attainable (re: I actually love the stuff I wear and don’t just do these because I’m desperate for content).

About this look: we know I love an off-the-shoulder top (love, love, love) and when I saw this one on GAP’s website I had to try it. I was slightly thrown that the three-quarter sleeves didn’t have elastic like the other ots tops I have but it actually makes it even more comfortable and a little more casual. I especially love the little embroidery detail around the neckline and hem. Pairing the shirt with my favorite ripped jeans just made me love it that much more. I would have been happy in flats or simple sandals but liked how the nude pumps made the relaxed look feel more elevated.

*NOTE: The top is 100% Tencel. I had to Google what exactly that meant. Here you go: “Tencel is a sustainable fabric, regenerated from wood cellulose. It is similar in hand to rayon and bamboo, both regenerated fabrics. However, Tencel is one of the most environmentally friendly regenerated fabrics, for several reasons. Tencel fibers are grown sustainably.” And now you know! (info via)
