Well. I had the best intensions of getting this look published before noon but...the best-laid plans and all that. The thing about this look is that 1) I threw it together for dinner last night, 2) I met Sally this morning so she could shoot it (because we had no pre-created content for today - super professional), and 3) the shoes are new (and I'm obsessed with them) but the dress is one I got last summer (but it's a Cuyana classic and currently available!) and it's still a style I wear all. the. time. So I'm glad that my dinner ensemble was one I liked enough to inspire todays post! But I'm not glad that it took me longer than expected to publish...
I’m of the mindset that a good slip dress can transcend seasons and be a closet staple year after year. Cuyana absolutely nailed it with this silk slip dress design. There’s just enough detailing – from the bordered v-neck to the side slits and back panel – to make it distinctive while the body skimming (not hugging) silhouette and thin straps keep it classic and iconic. I also happen to have the dress in a cognac hue Cuyana made last fall (wore it in this post) and I’ve worn both it and the black more times than I can count. Rather than getting sick of reaching for the same style, I love that it always looks good, feels good, and is appropriate for almost any situation.
Now…the shoes. Leave it to Loeffler Randall to make embroidered suede mules be my go-to statement shoe of the summer. I fully fell for the new knotted Coco style as soon as it was released (how killer is it in watermelon velvet and rose gold metallic?!). While the Coco in black suede with anemone embroidery isn’t yet available on the LR site, I linked the other places where you can find it below! Though I am not someone who falls for patterns easily, the “print” on these somehow makes them insanely wearable. They look just a great with cuffed jeans and a tee…the more simple the outfit the more they standout (in the best way possible). I should also mention that the Coco is incredibly comfortable.
Ok! That’s all I’ve got. Finally hitting the “publish” button on this one!
