I should have titled this post: "How to Wear a Sweatshirt When It's Still Sometimes 90 Degrees." But that seemed long. And honestly, with all the insane and horrific weather that's been happening across the country (Houston and South Texas, Florida and Georgia, and other areas - you are in my thoughts and prayers!) I have NO reason to complain about a little heat.
Speaking of storms and touching on relief efforts, I know there are a lot of ways to get involved and donate time and funds to those affected, but I wanted to note that Cynthia Cazort Collins - the amazing San Antonio-based designer responsible for the awesome rope necklace you see me wearing here - is donating 100% of all her September sales to relief in Rockport, Texas. Rockport is a sleepy fishing village that was hit by the eye of Hurricane Harvey and Cynthia and her family's personal ties to the town inspired her to give back. Support this up-and-coming designer and support a great cause this month!
I’ve gotten a few new pieces for fall – I can’t help myself, the back to school season is like a drug and I can’t resist cozy, cool-weather stuff. But this Easy Sweatshirt from J.Crew was one that I was dying to wear. It is cozy to the max. Yes, it’s really a bit to warm to wear it completely comfortably right now but I was begging to be styled. So I rolled with my excitement and paired it with jorts. Cozy but still seasonably appropriate for Dallas. Sizing note: this definitely runs on the bigger side (I have a small-medium) and I’m definitely going to wash and dry the 100% cotton! And P.S. J.Crew is having a “buy 2 get 20% off OR buy 3 and get 30% off” on select items with code “MOREPLEASE” and this is one of the items…you need it.
