Google Reader

Welp, I guess I’m not the brightest blogger on the block because I just discovered Google Reader about a week ago.  If you’re like me and Sally and have about a 17+ blogs that you keep up with on a regular basis then Google Reader will be your bff.  For those of you that are like me and had no clue what Reader is, it a place where all your favorite websites and blogs can be stored and it constantly checks them for updates – letting you know which sites have new posts up since the last time you visited your Reader page.  The best part is that you can read posts with Reader without having to go directly to the blog site.  Easy. Peasy.

So if you have a Google or Gmail account, I highly recommend trying out Google Reader.  And no, Google’s not paying me to plug them :)  Ooo and the funny and all-too-true hand silk-screen print above is available on Etsy by Jennifer Ramos (only $4.20!!).

tiny prints

When you work with kids ten hours a day like I do, you see so many things that inspire you.  For instance, who knew that birthday invitations could be this cute?  And I have never in my life seen personalized Valentine’s cards until this year.  The best part?  Its all so easy and can be ordered right off the internet and shipped to your front door.  Which is great for busy and working moms.  I remember when we were little our mom would have to go out to our local Bennett Schneider stationary shop to have invitations printed and we always made our own Valentine’s because our mom never liked the boxed kind that you buy. Although, I think homemade Valentines are the best kind.  Tiny Prints has the most adorable invitations (the ones shown above).  I really was so impressed at what they have to offer.  If I were a mom I would totally jump right on these cute as pie invites.

Remembering Oscars 2010

I know that this was a love/hate dress for people at last year’s Oscars… For me it was a LOVE.  I’ve kind of been obsessed with Zoe Saldana since I first saw Center Stage (it is part of my movie collection, please don’t judge me), and I’m so happy she is making more of an impact in Hollywood with Avatar (Crossroads with B.Spears wasn’t the best lasting impression).

Back to the dress. Givenchy spring/summer 2010 runway piece.  Lavender to dark violet ombre.  Structured and sparkly on top, soft and layered ruffled at the bottom.  The complex ruffles (is that the best word? Tight tiny pleats maybe?) are what made the wow factor for me.  This dress screams “Oscars” – it is memorable and special and Zoe’s simple up-do, minimal jewelry and rockin shoes were a perfect match.  Hands down best dressed of 2010 according to me :)  Who’s going to steal the red carpet this year?  I’m looking forward to seeing what the glowing and gorgeous Natalie Portman wears with her baby bump…
