“Cheers to affordable modern”.  You’ve got that right, CB2.  I’ve been making mental lists of what I need to purchase before I move in July and a new coffee table was one of them.  Because square footage is limited, and because I’m just obsessed, I decided that a lucite coffee table was the perfect answer.  Won’t cramp my space and certainly won’t cramp my style.  Finding affordable lucite pieces, though, can be a little bit of a challenge.  Untillll I came across this little number from CB2 – the little sister store to Crate and Barrel.

The peekaboo clear coffee table from CB2 is exactly what I have been wanting and the price point is even better.  Score and double score.  Now I just need to find some neat coffee table books to place on this baby and I’m set.  Thank goodness for birthday coming up in July!

CB2, I love you.

Memorial Day.

Happy Memorial Day!! Hope everyone has been having a glorious looonnngg weekend like we have!  Today we celebrate and remember the U.S. soldiers that dedicated their lives to serving our country… It’s holidays like these that make proud to live in country of the stars and stripes.  Whether on a lake drinking some Budweiser, singing along to some Bruce Springsteen or Britney Spears, eating out at a BBQ, or just sporting some jorts – hopefully everyone did something with a little American flair this weekend!

Yee-Haw

Straight from Knoxville, Tennessee, this hand-made wall art and card stock is one of the coolest things I have seen as of late.  YeeHaw, an Etsy seller, proves that one should never take art too seriously.  She creates block-printed letterpress pieces that are all done by hand.  Everything is made with salvaged equiptment, recycled paper, and re-purposed inks.  All of the imagery is original and the typography is antique. I remember block-printing in my high-school art class and I thought it was such a great concept, but you sadly don’t see much of it.  That may be why I love what YeeHaw has to offer.

At first I sent these to my boyfriend because I thought many of the pieces were targeted to guys, but I think the would look amazing in any room of the house.  The farmers market pieces would be darling hung as a series in a kitchen.  And woulnd’t they be a great gift for the person who seems to have everything?  Betcha they don’t have some handmade letterpress by YeeHaw!

I am dying to order a print for my boyfriends house to see how they look in person.  Probably one of the steak prints!
