Happy Friday

And it couldn’t have come any faster.  I wish casual Friday meant jorts were office appropriate… I really like the pale brownish-grey color of this girl’s sweater, looks like it would go with a lot.  Can’t wait to be outside all weekend – I feel like I have to spend Saturday and Sunday warming my bones that became frozen from my freezing cold office air conditioning.  Texas is hot but comeon.  And I’m rambing.  Hope you all have a good one!

Oh oh oh, P.S. I’m really on the lookout for a good plain brown belt (similar to what you see in the picture above) that wont cost me a fortune… Anyone have ideas?  You know I’ll be posting when I do find the perfect one!

Weekend Wear of Fall

Has everyone creeped on the new fall stuff for J.Crew?  It’s been the buzz of the blogsphere for a few days and I’m guilty of having scrolled through the new items several times already.  The favorites everyone seems to be talking about are the bright dahlia (purply-pink) cafe capri pants and all the splashes of leopard (blazer, sweaters, skirts, bags, etc.).  And I’m jazzed about all that goodness, too – I’ve built a nice “mother may I” list already…

But I think it’s pretty telling that the items I am most pumped about are part of the J.Crew Weekend section… Don’t get me wrong, I love getting dressed for the office each day and “pencil skirt” is still my middle name – but on the weekends, I run errands, lounge and try to do a whole lot of nothingness.  And I prefer to do this nothingness is the most comfortable (but still cute) clothing I can find (remember the weekend pants?)… Even though it wont be cold enough in the Dallas to wear most of my faves above, maybe they’ll be on sale by the time I need them.  The poncho hoodie in black is really calling my name.  Oh and I just threw in that denim vest for funsies – I think it’s wicked cool and maybe I’ll be brave enough to try it this fall

Chic Skulls

I distinctly recall having a conversation with someone about skull/jolly roger jewelry and deciding that maybe it was a little more “out” than “in.”  Welp, changed my mind after I seeing the turquoise Aurélie Bidermann skull bracelet included in The Love List’s arm party round up and spotting Chiara of The Blonde Salad wearing both a Gus Bijoux and LeiVanKash skull bracelet…  Should have known better than to assume that skull accessories were out!

I’m thinking that one of these above options would be a nice compliment to my other arm accessories – I like that they all have a dainty quality that make them more feminine than scary or goth-ish.
