Sunday’s Best

I’d like a vacation, please.  And I don’t mean that in a bratty “OMG, I deserve to be on a beach, stat” kind of way.  I mean it in a “oh gah, wouldn’t it be nice to do a little exploring a beautiful place so I can re-charge my batteries and gain more appreciate for all the things I have yet to see in this world.”  The last “trip” I took was to Iowa for my brother’s graduation – I wouldn’t have missed it for anything (you’re an effing genius, brother) but it rained all weekend and besides lots of family visiting, good eating and drinking it wasn’t the kind of get-away I had envisioned.

I just feel a little land-locked right now, ya know?  I haven’t seen a beach/ocean in 2.5 years and that seems weird to me – white girl problems I know.  So since I can’t just take a vacay all by my lonesome I’m having a little pitty party this Sunday and dreaming of going to these places above… Tulum, Greece, Lake Como, Cinque Terre, Istanbul, Seaside, Bali – anywhere that is nice, relaxing, and near water.  I don’t discriminate.

Make me jealous readers – what are some of your favorite sea-side trips you’ve taken?

Cinque Terre! If you ever go, stay in Rio Maggiore and eat at the restaurant right next to the water by the boats. Or up on the cliffs right next to the entrance of the Walk of Love there is another restaurant that is all outdoors, 7 tables total, and you sit right on the edge of the cliff looking out over the water. Be sure to get the pesto!!

    Kristen!
I went to Cinque Terre two summers ago on a study abroad trip and we visited each village. I know EXACTLY where you are talking about! Cinque Terre was one of my most favorite places in Italy. Absolutely amazing!
