I have never been a big fan of Halloween. Not in like a “Negative Nancy” way, “OMG Halloween sux”, but its just not my favorite. I mean, the colors are orange and black and the symbols are skulls and eyeballs. Not my thing. Our mom did make us some pretty killer homemade halloween costumes every year though, always had fun in that department.
But, when it comes to Halloween decor I really, really don’t like the creepy stuff. No frankensteins, tombstones, or fake bloody arms for me. And if take me to a Haunted House, I’ll kick and scream before I ever go in – literally. Give me some candy corn and pretty pumpkins on the front stoop and I’m set. I think thats why I love these paper mache pumpkins that West Elm came out with for the holiday. The all white, paper mache pumpkins were handmade in Haiti as part of a collaboration with Aid to Artisans. They would look great in any home and are a way to decorate for the holiday without being a total creepshow. Ok, I know not everyone has the creepy Halloween decor – I’m talking to you mama.
