November Member

November!  The official time to switch my closet over to my heavier clothes and pack away my spring/summer wear…  I can’t believe that you east coasters have been experiencing snow and sleet already!  We have been waking up with chilly air in Dallas (but getting into the mid 70s by the end of the day) and Sally and I were saying this morning that we’ll be holding out as long as possible before we have to start wearing tights.  The Texas weather is great for easing into the colder months but being back home in Kansas City last week made me realize how sad it is to miss out on the color-changing fall leaves – I practically fell over when I saw all the trees and remembered “oh yeahhh, so this is what autumn looks like.”  And, since Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays (thanks to my mama that dominates in the kitchen), November is a particularly loved time for me and my family. 

I’m sure I could ramble on a lot more about this month but I’m coming off my sugar high from Halloween candy consumption and there’s work to be done and fall-inspired recipes to be researched!  Hope you all have a lovely 11.01.11 day today…
