Recently, I popped into this home store in Dallas called “Stella Dallas”.  I had driven by multiple times because its a few doors down from my dry cleaners but had yet to go in.  Each time I drove by my jaw nearly dropped at the sight of their window displays.  Happy colors mixed with neutrals and incredible textures.  I could see it all from the street and knew that the store was calling my name.  I was not disappointed upon my visit.  In fact, I was just the opposite.  I was obsessed.  I was completely inspired by the store as a whole and absolutely loved one of the buyers that I spoke with.

About Face Studios is one of the many companies that the store sells and one of the most unique.  A mother to four young children, Allyson Hall decided to follow her dream of turning her creativity into a professional pursuit.  Her pursuit?  Creating handmade silhouettes from clients’ personal pictures of loved ones.  Whether is a precious baby, child, cat, or dog, Allyson does them all so incredibly and with such detail and precision.  What I love, love, love about these silhouettes is that they are done in thick card stock and in color.  It gives such a new feel and update to the Victorian looking black silhouettes.  And the colors really make the art stand out against a white background.  Not to mention that they just look so darn happy.  I love happy and colorful pieces in a home.  I have already told my boyfriend that we will be getting these done of our pups.  What do you think?  Would you put something like this in your home?
