If you guys have been wondering how my year supply of ShoeMint shoes is treating me thus far, I’ve got to say it’s been pretty great. They gave me 12 credits and since the December launch I’ve been choosing one shoe a month – I figured that each month would yield me a new pair of shoes and I can ride this train for 12 straight months. So far so good… I love my Jolly wedge booties in taupe and the Janice ankle boot in black. So yesterday, ShoeMint released one of their February shoes early and it’s a style I know and love: the classic pump. Called Rosemary, the pump comes in black patent leather, nude leather and printed snakeskin. Best part? The heel is 3 3/4 inches - my ideal heel height and something I thought I would never see from ShoeMint considering all the heels and pumps thus far have been between 4 and 5 inches.
I’m not even going to wait to see what other styles are part of the February collection, I want to order the Rosemary ASAP (I went trendy on my first 2 credits, I think it’s worth it to get some classic styles into my closet). But I am so torn, guys. I don’t know if I want the pump in nude (so versatile, so ladylike - channeling Princess Katherine) or python (so edgy, my favorite print – worn like a neutral a la Kourtney Kardashian). Truth be told, I think it’s nearly impossible to find a good nude pump and a perfect python pump. I’m challenging you all to help me decide which Rosemary I need… Nude, python or both? Sally thinks both… Both? Use 2 credits for this month – is that foolish? Help!

This past Saturday we planned a fun sister date to go on the Dallas Modern Homes Tour. The tour included 12 different houses all over Dallas. Initially we made big plans to go to all 12 of the homes. Starting with one and making our way down to 12. Plans changed when we visited the 5th house – 4214 Shorecrest Drive. One of the most incredible houses (inside and out) that either of us have ever laid eyes on. Ever. Why did we play favorites with this house you ask? Compared to the other homes on the tour, the interiors and attention to detail were out. of. this. world. The other houses we had seen were architecturally very unique, but it was as if the homeowners kind of “skimped” on the interiors or purchased “pre-made” rooms from Bed Bath and Beyond. 4214 Shorecrest chose furniture pieces, rugs and artwork that perfectly complimented the unique modern space.
From the moment we walked into the house, we were in love. From the breathaking glossy photograph of two gorgeous brown horses in the living room to the series of three feathered Juju hats above the dining room table (a giant natural tree slab and chairs handmade for the couple in Marfa, TX) we were wiping drool from our faces. What drew us in to this home in particular was the amazing combination of neutrals mixed with warm woods, wonderful natural lighting throughout, and color in the form of gorgeous rugs and artwork. The cowhide rugs throughout the home and vintage Louis Vuitton trunk at the foot of the couple’s bed didn’t hurt either… And we obviously didn’t miss the unique and gorgeous orchid + antler arrangement on the couple’s nightstands
P.S. – the home is for sale! We bought lottery tickets in hopes of buying it for ourselves… Anyone looking to buy?
A few things influenced the pieces in today’s “I wish I was wearing post”. 1. It’s Friday and I can’t remember the last time I have been this ready for a weekend 2. Its going to be SUNNY today and in the high 60′s after a week of rain 3. I feel like I have been living in black and grey clothing Adams Family style and wish I was wearing the soft colors in this outfit.
It’s funny, these posts have been such a fun outlet to plan exactly what we wish we were wearing down to every last detail. You know those days when you wake up and decide that you hate all of your clothes and can’t find a single thing to wear to work (you know it happens) ? Yep, those are the days when these posts come quite in handy. I would give anything to be wearing these ahmaazzzingg J Brand Coated Denim Leggingsright now. If you haven’t seen them, they are pretty much the cats meow. They look a little bit like leather, but they’re not. Indescribable really. And the color is killer. I feel like it could be worn almost year round. And if someone gifted me this Wildfox Courture Imagine Penny Lane sweater I would probably wear it every Saturday and name it my “Saturday sweater”.
Now I’m getting ahead of myself here. The moral of the story is that I don’t own a single one of these pieces, but I wish I did. And I wish I had them on my body at this very moment. That would be nice.
