Lionfish

Even with all the marbled vanity space in the room I shared with Victoria and Chelsea at Alt Summit, we always ended up wandering to and from each other’s makeup areas to share products and boast about our favorites.  Some people are turned off about sharing stuff like makeup but it was totally natural for us – instant friends I tell you.  Victoria offered up her amazing all-natural skin products, I gave instructions on how to use my bombshell curling iron, and Chelsea told me she had finally found an eyeliner that worked.  I have never been able to wear eyeliner, people.  I don’t know why but every gel, pencil, brush and powder I’ve tried always leaves me feeling underwhelmed and looking messy because I can’t draw a uniform, clean line close enough to my lashes.  But I was feeling brave and after watching Chelsea I took a try with her Stila Smudge Stick liner… I think you know where this is going: I loved it!  The deep bronze color, called Lionfish (die for that name), went on smoothly with hardly any effort and the soft formula make it easy to get it to touch my lash line.  I loved the way it framed my eyes without looking too heavy.  Even better, the smudge stick is waterproof so it stayed put all night at the Alt white party.  I’m hoping to pick up my own smudge stick this weekend so I can keep practicing.  Might even have to try out some of the other pretty colors it comes in – the Moray golden olive could be a game changer.

Stilla liquid eye liner is my favorite, I am never thought I would ever use liquid eye liner but theirs goes on perfectly!

I am in your boat and this looks like a need-to-try! I am currently a Laura Mercier girl, but I've been feeling the need to change for a while! This may be just what the make up doctor ordered!

Eyeliner is my JAM. If that doesn't work for you, I recommend the drugstore cheapie, Revlon 16 Hour Pencil. I've used it for years and years, and I have never found one (even nicer brands) that's easier to use or that I've liked as much. It's a twist pencil, and I have stockpiled them in case they ever (God forbid) get discontinued.

EMILY - glad to hear that you love Stila! I'm still pretty scared of liquid liner but you're giving me a boost of confidence to try it someday!

MEGAN - ooo makeup doesn't get much nicer than Lara Mercier but maybe you could branch out and try a fun color that the smudge sticks come in! The navy blue is pretty epic...

HRCR - I LOVE drugstore cheapies! I'm going to take a gander at this Revlon liner you speak of and do a price comparison!

CHELSEA - you my girl :)

Makeup, skin and hair products well lets just say places like Sephora, Ulta and makeup counters in department stores they're all a HUGE weakness! Liner and mascara are probably my biggest pit falls, I can't live without either. So you'll find me at Sephora after work today playing with Stila Liners. Isn't Stila just the best?!

I actually just got a sample of that eyeliner in my latest Birchbox! I haven't tried it yet, but now I'm excited to use it. :)

SARAH - Sally and I have a major weakness for Sephora and the makeup counters at Nordstrom... We go in just to "browse" and before we konw if we've walked out with new skin care, a new lip cream, and purfume samples. How do they DO that?!?!

EMILY - Chelsea got her sample though Birchbox, too! I'm thinkig I might need to sign-up for BB after seeing what other people get... Makes me jealous I'm not getting boxes each month with goodies!

LAUREN - try, try, try! Never hurts to play around with makup :)

xx.Molly
