For a long time now Molly and I have been seriously dying to make some pretty big changes in our apartment. We own some very nice pieces passed down to us by our mama, but the pieces need a little bit of revamping in order for them to reflect our current/grown up design aesthetic these days. While our mama was in town we made a list of projects that we wanted to get done in the up-coming months and I couldn’t be more excited.
Things like recovering our couch in a neutral (most likely white) color and buying pretty grey-tone pillows for the couch. We’re thinking Kelly Wearstler’s Bengal Bazaar in the grey color way. Also on our list is to repaint and reupholster our dining chairs and get a new cushion (possibly in cow/pony hide) made for a big seagrass chair we have. Also high on our list is replacing out coffee table with something a little more modern. We definitely have had our hearts set on lucite for quite some time. Does anyone have some good resources for decently priced lucite coffee tables? As far as the other projects, we are hoping to find some great local people who can help with painting, reupholstering, etc. An amazing place in Dallas called Again, and Again is a great resource for revamping old furniture to look like new.
As we begin to tackle each project one by one, we will be sure to share to process with you here on the bloggie! Wish us luck!?

I got my lucite table at CB2. Looks like the price has gone up a little from $250 when I got it, but still a good deal. and I love mine!!

Not to be a total debbie downer here, but…I also really wanted a white couch. I had to admit to myself it probably wasn't the wisest choice for me at this point. I also live in a one-couch apartment, and I realized that with all the fun times/wine/food/pets/general wear-and-tear…that it probably wouldn't stay the shade of white I wanted it to for long. So I went with light grey instead and did lots of pretty mismatched throw pillows, and a blanket folded over the back. I also swooned over pictures like those of beautiful white couches, but those are probably in houses with formal living rooms that don't get a ton of use…and have professional housekeepers to keep them looking like that
Check out my brother's store, The Wooden House!!
These interiors are amazing. Thanks for inspiring again!
