I apologize for the second post about shoes and pictures of Ashley Olsen this week… For someone who claims they don’t really care much about footwear I sure am thinking and blogging about them a lot. And I adore Ash Olsen – no apologies for that. So, my coolest friends Erin and Lauren (along with the lovely and stylish ladies above) have Converse sneakers and I want to copy them. I’m one of those people who immediately changes out of work clothes at the end of the day and relishes the weekend because it means I can wear stretch pants and comfy clothes or a full work out ensemble for a full 2 days. But I feel stupid wearing my running shoes when I’m running errands and have zero plans to go to the gym. I get paranoid at the grocery store that people are thinking, “That girl is wearing mascara and earrings, clearly she is not going to be performing physical activity today.” I’m also getting tired of wearing my beloved Minnetonka deer skin moccasins… They’re super comfortable but not as versatile as you might think. Converse sneakers go with workout leggins AND denim shorts AND casual dresses.
This post is basically me convincing myself that it’s okay to buy a pair of chucks. I mean, they are an American icon and the staple of hipsters and fashionistas alike – how can I not let myself get them. In charcoal. This weekend. Good, I’m glad that’s settled.

love them! They are an inexpensive purchase too, I say go for it
I love my gray Chucks. I wear them all the time and love the playful element they add to a look. I am kind of an old lady, though, so I did buy some simple insoles for mine since they don't really provide a lot of support (and I seriously wear these bad boys for hours on end). Hope you adore yours!
I was actually of thinking of getting some for Valentine's for myself!! and blogging about it! ha! My friend that blogs with me has a huge collection…..and she looks so cute in them! so I want in! I'm thinking grey…
I have a pair of the classic white ones and LOVE them! I also have a pair of dark gray slip ons that are great too!
MELANIE – Done and done, sister. They are rather inexpensive for a shoe
NATALIE – Hey now, age is just a number – I love when women of age dress hip, it really shows their personality!! I might buy insoles for mine just to have some extra support!
ALBERTINA – you TOTALLY need to blog about them, too! Maybe someday I can build up a huge collection but I think starting with the grey/charcol is a great choice
ALEX – I bet you look smashing in the white! If a NYC gal like you finds them comfy enough to wear all the time then I know I will love them

I have the charcoal (and a white pair) and I wear them all the time and with a lot of different things. I'm all about wearing my heels and flats but when I put my converse on I feel instantly more cool! I think you should absolutely get them they will be a great investment and you will LOVE them!
LINDSEY – so basically, you been wearing cooler footwear than I have for forever. 5th grade?! What a hipster! I love it. They sort of are the best errand shoe aren't they?
SARAH – gah, I can't wait to up my coolness factor! Isn't it funny how clothing and accessories can change the way you feel? It's like reinventing yourself almost!

I have some in black that I wore all summer…especially during SXSW and at Lollapalooza. Check your sizing though…I had to go down at least a size. Then get after it, you hipster you.
Ohh, I will be so happy if chucks make a comeback! I’ve always loved mine and could totally do with a new pair!
I've had a red pair of Chucks for about six years and I wear them if I wear a team shirt on game days. I should be a little more adventurous and wear them with cute clothes like these pics.
Never thought I would say I want a pair of converses again.
