sam + mbm We are so lucky to call Fallon, author of A Lovely Being, a real life friend and blogger buddy. The two of us spent our childhood summers with her, terrorizing the country club pool and trying to learn how to play tennis and golf… The friendship continued when we all ended up at the same high school where we accessorized our uniforms with messy hair and cute tote bags and pretended to play field hockey. She was the catalyst for convincing us to create our own blog and we couldn't have gotten A Piece of Toast off the ground without her help! Fallon’s love of history and all things lovely and vintage makes her blog truly unique. She has impeccable taste and we can’t thank her enough for being the inspiration behind this lovely She Wishes She Was Wearing blog series! So today, Fallon (who currently lives in Los Angeles, by the way – lucky girl) wishes she was wearing:

QUESTIONS of STYLE:
.Describe your personal style in five words or less: Feminine. Classic. And floral, as of late.
.Who/What inspires your personal style, influencing what your drawn to and what you end up wearing? Cecil Beaton photographs, vintage Vogues, Lucky Magazine, the blogosphere... Also, Los Angeles has amazing street style. The warm climate gives people a bit more freedom with their ensembles. Even the mailmen and mailwomen dress a little more daring than they might elsewhere (the mailman in my neighborhood always wears knee socks and safari hats. In the next neighborhood over, the mailwoman wears miniskirts. And rocks it).
.What is an item you cannot live without or what are some of your wardrobe essentials? I have Tom Ford’s “Nikita” sunglasses in cream and I wear them almost every day. They’re definitely a conversation piece – men, in particular, seem to love them. Who would have thought? I also have some Citizens of Humanity cropped dark denim jeans that I wear more than I’d like to admit.
.What is your most recent purchase? I found a perfect first edition of “Zelda” by Nancy Milford on eBay for $10 the other night. Score!
.Where have you found some of your most treasured style items? Every Saturday, I make a point to stop by the Silver Lake farmer’s market to browse their vintage clothing. Tons of vendors set up shop there and if you take the time to dig, you can usually unearth something cool. Fred Segal is amazing, too. I feel like Cher Horowitz when I shop there, which is a definite plus.
.What is your go-to jewelry routine? I go crazy if I’m not wearing a watch! I received a petite Michele watch for my 17th birthday and am rarely without it. I love its interchangeable band. Right now, I’m using a black patent one.
.What are some of your make-up must haves? I love NARS’ lipsticks. I wear “Funny Face” (a bright fuchsia) or their lip pencil in “Dragon Lady” (a fiery red, as you may have guessed) nearly every day. Additionally, I’m nail polish-obsessed. My current addiction is Butter London’s Macbeth (a neon coral that looks good on everyone). I’d like to hunt down a bottle of their “Pink Ribbon” next.
.If you could meet any designer it would be and why? Miuccia Prada. I mean, she’s genius. She was also a mime (literally) at one point in her life. So cool.
.What's the best style advice you've ever given or received? Janie Bryant told me to invest in good undergarments because it makes your clothing look so much better. She was right! Though I have a love/hate relationship with my girdle, it’s a miracle worker :)
It's official, those jeans are a spring/summer must have... Thank goodness you spotted them on January Jones in LA!! Thank you for sharing your outfit and style with us, Fallon! xx - we love you
