Never Been, But…

I want this photograph.  Bad.

I am dying and begging my boyfriend to take a weekend or even a night trip out to Marfa, TX.  A small and remote town in East Texas, Marfa, is known for its many galleries as well as wonderful restaurants.  There are even options to stay in vintage trailers for a night.  Now is that hipster chic or what?  The picture that you see above is of a permanent sculpture in Marfa.  Yes, a sculpture of an actual Prada store.  Who knew remote could be so chic?  The sculpture was originally created in 2005 and has actual Prada shoes and bags behind the windows picked by Muiccia Prada herself.  How. Cool.

The picture above is a photograph that is being sold by a Fort Worth based photographer, Kristin Kirkley, who has an Etsy Shop and I really, really want it – its only $35!! I have an chair and ottoman situated under an eve in the corner of my bedroom and the little nook is just dying for a small piece of wall art.  Now that I have found a framer in Dallas who does affordable yet wonderful work, I am on a framing frenzy.  Yikes, it could get bad…

HA, I totally just bought the same picture!! I haven't figured out where I'm going to put it yet, but methinks it would be fabulous over my vanity in the bathroom.

I love this piece! $35 is a great price (especially for something this cool) so I say snap it up!

I live in Northeast Texas, and I have never heard of Marfa, so I Googled Maps it (totally a real technical term :P ), and it's 10 hours away from me! Turns out, Marfa is in way West Texas. :) But this is totally neat!

I would love to know a great framing source in Dallas. Right now, I just frame it all with store bought michael's crap. Save my art!
