Ever since Miss. Mackenzie of Design Darling posted about blowing up an image of her travels to use as large wall art (here) I have been obsessed with larger than life photos in homes… Whether of detailed and grand architecture, editorial portraits, family photos (the underwater photo in Lulu DK’s home is an all time fave!), striking interiors, or busy cityscapes - the scale is what makes the images even more captivating. Who doesn’t have a massive expanse of wall in their home that needs to be filled up? Abstract art is interesting but nothing holds my attention more than a well-taken photograph.
I’m with Mackenzie in that someday I’d love to enlarge one of my one shots to take up some wall space. But I’d also love it if Jamie Beck and Garance Doré would sell me some of their images… Talk about improving my walls in a really big way. The hardest part would be narrowing down which ones out of the million I love the most.

I am such a huge fan of this decor, and wouldn't it be a dream to have one of Jamie Beck's gorgeous images? I love the first photo!
Your first post on this topic inspired me to create my own massive wall art. A few years ago I traveled all over northern Europe and while it was difficult to choose one picture, I found the one I'm going to mount on my wall! I'm so excited and can't wait to put it up!!!!
i cannot love this post more.
Thanks so much for linking to my post! I wound up blowing up a picture of a French chateau from my study abroad semester and I love the way it turned out. Now I want to do the same thing with pictures of Nantucket, my parents' backyard, etc. — all my favorite spots! But a fashion illustration would be FAB, especially one of Jamie's portraits!
I'm obsessed with this post. It's perfect. How is it that I only just stumbled upon your blog? How is this possible? It's everything. I hope you come visit!
