Styled by Jacey | Damsel in Dior

You know when people say, “not just a pretty face” to describe someone and it somehow carries a lot of weight? Jacey, blogger behind Damsel in Dior, is not only gorgeous and stylish but completely down to earth and sweet as pie.  Maybe it’s because she’s a South Texas native now living Los Angeles :)  Her blog is a personal platform for her comfy chic outfit looks and well designed mood, travel, and style graphics that curate some of the best “hidden gems” I never knew I needed!  Mondays have never felt better when you know you have a Damsel in Dior “Corporate Monday” post to look forward to and her “Follow Friday” series has introduced me to some of my latest bookmarked blogs.  So yes, she’s got a pretty face but so much depth and warmth that you can’t help but connect with her through her blog!  I’m so thrilled that she has shared an epic She Wishes She Was Wearing post with all of us today… Black. Leather. Jacket included.  Girl after my own heart!

QUESTIONS of STYLE:

.Describe your personal style in five words or less:  Comfortable, Classic, Relaxed.

.Who/What inspires your personal style, influencing what you’re drawn to and what you end up wearing?  Everything inspires me! Whether it be a song, art, architecture, my family farm or other bloggers/models. I’m drawn to seeing things put together in a way that is outside the box. I love when I see a print (even if it’s a wallpaper) and all of a sudden an outfit pops in my mind. I am also inspired by travel. I always feel like I’m shopping for an upcoming trip!

.What is an item you cannot live without or what are some of your wardrobe essentials?  My wardrobe essentials are my handbags (because they can transform any outfit into something amazing), my Céline sunglasses, jeans and a comfy tee with my flip-flops. That’s probably my favorite outfit. One item I can’t live without…that’s tough. Probably (sadly) my laptop, but in my closet…my Cartier Love Bracelet. I sold my wedding dress to purchase it and it serves as a daily reminder of the happiest day of my life.

.What is your most recent purchase?  My two toned Céline pouch from Dressed Online. I have a sick obsession with Céline. I’m allowing myself to purchase one more piece which will be the mini-luggage tote (sigh).

.Where have you found some of your most treasured style items?  I’m one of those girls who goes to a flea market and finds nothing, zero, nada. I need a guru to teach me the ways. I find treasured pieces when I travel because they are unexpected and remind me of the places I’ve been. I also l-o-v-e going back home to Texas and hitting up the antique stores near Fredericksburg and Boerne.

.What is your go-to jewelry routine?  Good question. I’m not a blogger who shows off my “arm candy” all that often because it rarely changes. I have my staples everyday and night: Cartier Love Bracelet, H Bracelet, Gold Blvgari Ring mixed with pieces from Bing Bang, Ariel Gordon, and vintage finds. On my left: my Hermes watch my mister gave me on our wedding day and my engagement/wedding ring. When I’m dressing up I sometimes pop out a piece by Kelly Wearstler. Lately I’ve been addicted to her turquoise necklace which you can see here. I.love.Kelly.Wearstler.

.What are some of your make-up must haves?  Chanel Concelear, Arcona Basic Five, Tarte Mascara, Urban Decay Brow Box, Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick.

.If you could meet any designer who would it be and why?  I recently heard Zac Posen speak at the Lucky Fabb conference and I would love to sit down with him for lunch/coffee. Not only do I love his collections, but he’s a doll! I’d also love to meet Vera Wang…and Kelly Wearstler (duh).

.What’s the best style advice you’ve ever given or received?  Choose two to three words that you want to represent who you are and what you want your style to stand for. Keep those words in mind when you go shopping and if an item you may like (because it’s a trend) doesn’t fit one of those words, don’t get it. Stay true to your brand. For example, if your words are “bold” and “sexy” and you’re shopping for a swimsuit…You shouldn’t get a one-piece polka dot swimsuit. This will help you to round out your wardrobe and steer clear of emotional purchases. It will also help when you get dressed each day because your closet will be well rounded.

So I’ve got to share some of her cute snippets that came with her outfit links: 01. This piece is so good. It’s the kind that can turn an outfit around. // 13. In the summer I turn into a lotion slut // 07. I have a problem with Céline! I’m sickly obsessed. I promise to stop after I get the mini :) // 11. I want to be in Africa or India right now and this print reminds me of that…  Too adorable and oh so humble and relateable.  I suggest taking the day off to page through all the goodness that is Damsel in Dior.  Thank you so much, Jacey!! xx
