Brights & Black

I never used to be a fan of black – always thought it was too harsh with my skin tone and hair.  But since last fall I’ve been “channeling my inner Rachel Zoe” and constantly find myself reaching for blacks and greys in my closet.  Lately I’m liking black paired with splashes of bright colors… I wish it wasn’t soo hot in Dallas so I could be wearing my black leather jacket with bright shorts like some of the girls in the photos above.  Might just have to track down a breezy black tunic to pull off the look without dying of heat.  Black and pink/black and orange also used to scare me but when done right, it looks pretty wicked.  I think the trick is to do more of a watermelon pink and steer clear or baby pink and a cantaloupe orange to keep things from looking like Halloween.  Thoughts?

    I have the opposite problem – I wear too much black and grey! Thanks for showing me how I can mix some brights in for a fun summery look! The second look (with the green shorts) is my favourite.

    I've been drawn to blacks lately too! I'm not sure why because I should be all over neon and other summer colors. It's strange!

    I can totally relate. Few years back, there wasn`t one single black item in my weardrobe, but now, its all over :) splash here splash there and you have a great look. These shorts, especially green ones are wonderful and I wish I had the skin for them…
