I’m guessing that many of you have probably come to know Jacquelyn… The sweet blonde from Toronto, Canada where she works full time in the Interior Design world while also managing her perfectly lovely blog, Lark & Linen. The reason I say many of you might know her is because like me, you may have stumbled upon her blog and fallen in love with her simplistic (yet rustic and comforting) aesthetic and never stopped reading. It’s easy to get hooked on a blog that’s filled with such great content – homemade recipes and gorgeous photography – and relatable writing. Jacquelyn’s love for interiors and her ability to find the most amazing homes in her “house envy” posts has become something I look forward to every week. She’s like my adorable friend with the great taste and talent I can always count on! Guys, we are very lucky to have Jacquelyn here on the blog to share what She Wishes She Was Wearing with us today…

QUESTIONS of STYLE:
.Describe your personal style in five words or less: Comfortable, timeless, a hint of whimsy.
.Who/What inspires your personal style, influencing what you’re drawn to and what you end up wearing? To be completely honest, I dress for comfort more than anything else. I have a number of great pieces but on a daily basis I tend to reach for those items that are worn-in and well-loved. And you better believe I throw on my pj pants the second I get home. Because my boyfriend leaves for work before I’m even out of bed most mornings, I sometimes wonder if he even realizes that I wear actual people clothes (I do. I swear!)
.What is an item you cannot live without or what are some of your wardrobe essentials? Skinny jeans, great flats and loose/flowy tops. And in the summer? Maxi dresses and soft T’s. This is what you’ll find me in on any given day (when I’m outside the confines of my condo, that is). My uniform, if you will!
.What is your most recent purchase? I actually just picked up this ASOS clutch, on sale no less!
.Where have you found some of your most treasured style items? Lately I find I do most of my shopping online (ASOS is my favourite since shipping is always free). But I always score great pieces at Zara, H&M, Club Monaco, Anthropologie and FCUK.
.What is your go-to jewelry routine? I’m very rarely seen without my diamond ring (my boyfriend gave it to me for Christmas one year), my infinity ring (my little sister and I have matching ones) and my Michael Kors watch. Other than that, I tend to throw on a trendy bracelet here and there, and a few delicate necklaces that I have on rotation.
.What are some of your make-up must haves? I don’t wear a ton of make-up, but I rarely leave the house without some tinted moisturizer (I love smashbox’s), a hint of bronzer, and a swipe or two of mascara (I’ve been a tried and true MAC Zoom Lash fan for years).
.If you could meet any designer who would it be and why? Oh gosh – is it totally lame if I say Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen? Yeah – child from the 80′s right here. I grew up adoring them and love what they have made of themselves. Their line, Elizabeth & James, pushes boundaries yet always manages to remain classic and timeless. Something I always strive for with my own wardrobe.
.What’s the best style advice you’ve ever given or received? When trying things on while shopping: “if it doesn’t make you want to do a happy dance, don’t buy it”. I can’t tell you how much money this little line has saved me! I used to fall victim to purchasing something because it was on super-sale. It would then sit in my closet unused because I wasn’t absolutely in love with it. Now I try to hold out and maybe spend a little more on something that makes me want to do a little jig in the dressing room. It definitely takes longer to build a wardrobe this way, but it’s well worth it!
Wanting to meet the Olsen twins – genius. But her style advice is even better… Told you we were lucky to have this girl here with us today!! Now go drool over Lark & Linen. Thank you so much, Jacquelyn! xx
