You all know Elizabeth Schneider of Sequins & Stripes, right? I would be shocked if you didn’t… (just kidding, you guys know I live under rocks sometimes!) I feel like her blog is magnetic – just like her personality – and some way or another, everyone finds their way to S & S and settles into the daily routine of reading anything and everything Liz posts on. As a personal stylist and consultant living in Chicago, she’s got legit fashion credentials with a degree in Textiles and Clothing and works hard to help clients cultivate their idea of perfect personal style. I know… I want to hire her too. Everyone should have a shopping buddy and closet coinsure looking out for them! Lucky for us, Elizabeth is always sharing her latest and greatest fashion, jewelry, and accessory finds on the Sequins & Stripes blog and Instagraming her own looks for us to stalk be inspired by. Always smiling and completely genuine, we are so happy she’s with us today with the outfit She Wishes She Was Wearing!

QUESTIONS of STYLE:
.Describe your personal style in five words or less: Feminine, tailored, soft, but edgy.
.Who/What inspires your personal style, influencing what you’re drawn to and what you end up wearing? Sometimes I feel like I am all over the board, like I have a fashion alter ego. I adore Olivia Palermo for her flirty dresses, ability to mix pattern and print, and her playful take on fashion – and I think she does a great job of maintaining her youthfulness. Poppy Delevingne knows how to keep it clean, she loves feminine silhouettes and her outfits always seem effortless – when you look at her style it is made up of such simple polished pieces, which is totally chic and cool. I think I like to maintain a balance of timeless pieces that I know will last forever, and novelty. I am not huge on trends; I know what works for my body and what I just shouldn’t attempt. My Pinterest board has a pretty good connection to my personal style.
.What is an item you cannot live without or what are some of your wardrobe essentials? A silk blouse, some sort of fun jacket {leather or a blazer}, skinny dark denim, a colorful shift dress, riding boots, fun ballet flats, and some quality t-shirts.
.What is your most recent purchase? I recently indulged in a few Equipment blouses and a Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Bag. Plus a few things from Zara, their fall collection is ah-mazing.
.Where have you found some of your most treasured style items? I am a big boutique junkie when it comes to accessories, but tend to stick to the more typical stores for clothing/cosmetics. My favorites are Nordstrom, J.Crew, Shopbop.com, and Perchance and Edith Hart here in Chicago.
.What is your go-to jewelry routine? On a typical day I will wear some simple gold studs, my Marc Jacobs watch, a Chan Luu bracelet of some sort and I tend to switch out necklaces here and there. I like to keep it on the lighter side.
.What are some of your make-up must haves? I live in Smashbox Sheer Tinted Moisturizer, NARS Orgasm Blush, and I don’t like to wear mascara {I hate having to take it off at night} so once a month I get my eyelashes dyed! It is a life-changer.
.If you could meet any designer who would it be and why? I think I would have to choose Amy Smilovic, the designer behind Tibi. I love how fresh and feminine her pieces are while still maintaining sophistication. She is no stranger to prints but keeps her silhouettes simple, which I love. Plus, she seems like a cool chic!
.What’s the best style advice you’ve ever given or received? Confidence is your best accessory.
Yes! Another eyelash dying soul mate
I love her honesty when it comes to her own look, “I am not huge on trends; I know what works for my body and what I just shouldn’t attempt.” Not everyone can rock bubble gum pink nails with an edgy outfit but this girl would nail it. Thank you, Elizabeth! xx
