The home of Finn + MO

Have you guys been noticing the adorable mini Texas bracelets we’ve been wearing in recent photos (here)?  Or the evil eye necklace I’m often sporting?  Well both those are by one of our favorite jewelry companies, FINN and they are both part of their daughter line, Minor Obsessions.  Before visiting New York for Fashion Week, Sally and I had only been able to see FINN and Minor Obsessions online or by visiting Barneys or Ylang 23… So we were way  excited when Candice (a co-founders of the lines) and her right hand girl Karly asked us to drop by their SoHo showroom for a little visit while we were in the city!

I die for all things dainty and sparkly so I was in heaven seeing all the FINN pieces up close in personal in the showroom and had a blast trying on all the Minor Obsession goodies I have on my wish list…  Getting to sit and talk candidly with Candice and Karly in their “world” was so rewarding – especially because both of them are Texas natives and implement tons of their own designs and tastes when creating new pieces for the lines.  Re: the newest Texas charm added to the Minor Obsessions family.

When you check out the stunning FINN site you might not realize that most of what the company specializes in is custom designed pieces.  Clients often come to them with ideas to tweak current items (changing out this bunny’s tail of diamonds for pearls) or invent whole new ones (friendship necklaces in the form of a long chain with several unique charms each representing a different friend).  And diamonds… They are insanely talented at working with couples or clients on special diamond pieces.  Whether that means designing an engagement ring from the ground up, creating a new setting for a current diamond, of making one-of-a-kind sparklers – each project goes through rounds of revisions, sketches, and prototypes before the final product can be called finished.  We got a sneak peek behind some of their past projects and it was just as cool and special as you would imagine.

Not only do I wish I could work with these girls on a daily basis – they are the definition of sweet, cool, funny, and smart – but I told them I wanted to move into their showroom.  It’s un-fussy chic and I had to take some photos to share the goodness… Grey walls, sleek tables, antique rugs, wicked light fixtures, editorial photos, and a wall covered in metallic starry wallpaper.  The perfect nest to showcase their special pieces.

I know you are dying to know… So I’ll tell you.  On my wish list: this bracelet to add to my growing dainty arm charm collection, these studs, and this long pendant.  There’s lots more I want but I don’t want to seem greedy… Thank you for hanging with us, Candice and Karly!!
