I have a theory about what this girl is reaching into her Céline clutch for… And it’s not another cig. My guess is she is reaching for her card case. A sleek bit of leather that holds her ID, a few credit cards, and maybe a folded up $20. Her valet ticket is in said case and she needs to have her car retrieved so she can make her very important hair appointment (she’s French, and only smokes when she is nervous about her roots showing).
I myself was gifted this card case about three years ago and it’s become extremely handy over the years. On a typical day you can find me with my neon green Kate Spade wallet – a total gem that holds everything and more and has held up incredibly well. But when going out for the night with my GiGi clutch or a bag that’s even smaller, I just tuck my essential cards into my case and it hardly takes up any room. It keeps things organized and in one place and allows room in my clutch for my iPhone and lipstick.
Sally was very jealous of the card case while we were in New York for Fashion Week… We both have it in our minds that she needs one of her own and if I’m being honest, I wouldn’t mind getting another myself. Especially after I did some searching and rounded up some incredible card case / cardholder options!

i always struggle to find card cases i love, but now i'm obsessed with the Bettanin & Venturi and Smythson cases! clearly i should have been checking Barneys!
My idea of a "card case" was just a smaller wallet I needed for traveling, but these are sweet! Do you slide a few business cards in it as well? Or do those have a separate holder?
I have a couple of these and are indispensable for an evening clutch ….you need it!

I have a Kate Spade pink card case that I've used for about 11 years. I totally agree that they're essential for smaller handbags. Cute round up of other options! It's probably time for me to add another to my collection!
