More often than not, the blog world is constantly introducing me to brands or companies that I had not yet known about. And then I feel a little bit as if I had been living under a rock to not know about something so cool/pretty/amazing, but then again the blogging world is one vast place filled with thousands upon thousands of creative and talented people. This current find was actually found from Olivia Palermo’s blog, which i just learned of this week. Under a rock I tell ya….
Meli Melo is a new to me luxury, leather handbag company based out of London. The company was started in 2005 by Melissa Del Bono to fuel her passion for leather and handbag design. The gorgeous, sculptural bags are made out of highly sought out Italian leathers and designed to be both chic and practical. If you ask me, Melissa and her company has hit the nail on the head with their visions.
Meli Melo’s first ever handbag was known as the “B.B. Bag” and featured patented inverted handles in hopes of “revolutionizing the concept of how to carry your handbag”. That bag is now known as the “Thela” bag and is one of meli melo’s top sellers. Its not wonder why. This was the bag I spotted on Olivia Palermo on her blog that I then tracked down to Meli Melo’s very own website. Only to find a goldmine of gorgeous and unique bags all made of soft Italian leathers and in colors every girl needs in their handbag collection. I also learned that just recently Shopbop started carrying meli melo’s famous Thela bag as part of their ONE collection.
I definitely consider myself to be a handbag “lover”, but I find myself seeking out bags that are pretty yet practical and well made for my busy lifestyle. My Goyard tote has been my very best friend ever since purchasing it in San Francisco two years ago, but I don’t want to wear it to its death, so I have been on the hunt for something else to add to the rotation. Something big enough to carry all of my things (crap), something that will hold up, and something that looks good and goes with everything. Hellloo Thela bag, will you come into my closet? If OP approves, I approve too.

I love the sleek lines of these bags, and the inverted handles are so interesting! I agree – I like having a couple of really nice bags in my rotation so that 1 bag doesn't get worn to death. I don't know what I would do if one got worn out!
