When I pinned this picture of Gwyneth last week, my mind immediately went to our mom and a bit of fashion advice she told me a couple of years ago. The woman is full of advice that I like to store in my back pocket and pull out whenever I need it. Like the time Molly and I were begging her to buy us rhinestone “Bebe” shirts in highschool. “You know girls, not everything has to be skin tight”. I am still convinced that was her nice way of saying, omg these shirts are hideously ugly/trashy/overpriced and I cannot believe my daughters find them “cute”. God – how embarassing that we actually liked those. If only we listened to her! Limited Too was the same story – we were never allowed to shop there. Needless to say, my childhood certainly wasn’t ruined by that rule. Thanks mama:)
Back to present day here and I’m obsessed over yet another outfit Gwyneth puts together. This time whats catching my eye is her amazing red Rag and Bone boots. “I love a good red shoe, its such a great neutral and you will have it in your closet forever”, she said to me a few years back in the Stuart Weitzman store. Once again, mama knows best. This must by why she constantly put us in matching red rubber-toed Keds, leather t-strap mary janes, and sandals throughout our childhood. (I really hope you’re loving the visuals on these)
The funny thing is that I have really never been a big fan of wearing the color red. I literally have two red pieces hanging in my entire closet. I have always felt that it was such a harsh color against my light hair and skin, but red shoes I can definitely do. With Gwyneth’s look they literally make her entire outfit. A classic grey tee and jeans are instantly taken to the next level with those red booties and I’m ready to jump on board.

This is really sweet but sooo sassy too! Love this look.
Oh I shamefully had one of those rhinestone Bebe shirts! I also feel the same way about red and my complexion though I have been working to integrate the color a bit more into my wardrobe. These shoe suggestions are the perfect way to do so!
Loving your mom's style advice and am soo ready to jump on the red booty bandwagon! Loving the spark they give to Gwen's look!

Those red shoes are bananas! I never thought to flaunt them with a basic outfit.
What great advice from your mama! My mom's advice is "if you can't decide between the red sweater or the blue sweater, get them both". You can see where my shopping addiction comes from!
I'm with you on the red. I barely have any in my closet but there are some pieces, like these shoes, that make me want to change that.

how is she always so chic and put together? I love this outfit as well, and the red bootie definitely makes it. I think I have about 1 red item in my wardrobe. Time to change that!
Gwen is one hot bombshell!
I always loved red shoes! I think the same: they totally change the look.
