Because I am so not high-fashion when it comes to my own closet and accessories, people like Amber facinate and inspire me to no end.  Blogger of VENZedits and entrepreneur of a successful and growing business (and former jewelry designer), Amber has the type of style that is truly envious.  It’s high-fashion but wearable and not brand heavy but always one step ahead of the trends.  She divulges her style thought process through her blog – often cluing readers into her new must have items, high and low outfits, and of-the-moment inspirations.  The best part about Amber is that even with all her self-made success she is so down-to-earth, sweet, and personable.  Her brain goes a mile a minute and she’s a frequent jet-setter, but she’s never to busy to chat and she’ll even throw in a couple “y’all”s to remind you that she’s a born and bred Texas girl.  I’ll be honest, I feel pretty guilty even asking Amber to participate in the series because she is one of those people that never talks about how busy she is but really is busy, busy… But, I asked.  And I do feel guilty.  But not that guilty, because what She Wishes She Was Wearing is pretty epic.  If you love accessories – this is your post and Amber is your girl!

QUESTIONS of STYLE:

.Describe your personal style in five words or less:  A splurge, a steal, a body part & new hair. (The elements of most of my looks.)

.Who/What inspires your personal style, influencing what you’re drawn to and what you end up wearing?  I am currently cycling somewhere between uber-girly and an Alexander Wang makes a love child with Isabel Marant mess. I say mess because some aspect of my look is typically unkept- right now, that is my new hair cut. If I were to describe that look in terms of a celebrity, think Olivia Palmermo meets Kate Bosworth meets Miroslava Duma.

.What is an item you cannot live without or what are some of your wardrobe essentials?  For beauty, the following are all a part of my regime: Oribe texture spray, Psssssst dry shampoo, Chanel makeup (it smells so good!),  Sally Hansen leg makeup and Creed Spring Flower.  If I am feeling extra girly, I will use Kai products.  In my wardrobe: Leather pants (all colors); fur (vests, jackets); neutral tops and dresses. I collect bags so they are typically the focus of my look.  In my home: Byredo Loveless candles and coffee table books.

.What is your most recent purchase?  Drapes for my room.

.Where have you found some of your most treasured style items?  In Dallas, I love VOD Boutique in Victory Park and Barneys. Most of my prized possessions are dresses that I have made or unique vintage items.

.What is your go-to jewelry routine?  Lately I have been extremely minimalist. I have two diamond bands that I wear on my middle fingers and that is pretty much it. When I travel, I bring my A.L.C. bolt earrings because you can wear them on the silver or gold side (I like to match the hardware of my jewelry and my bag). I recently retired from jewelry design and I find myself wearing very little jewelry.

.What are some of your make-up must haves? My Chanel makeup and cremes smell amazing – I actually look forward to wearing makeup now.

.If you could meet any designer who would it be and why?  I am not good at meeting people that I adore- last time that happened I asked Phillip Lim what he ate for dinner… awkward. I would love to shadow Alber Elbaz.

.What’s the best style advice you’ve ever given or received?  Invest in your accessories. You can get away with less expensive clothing if your shoes, bag and accessories are luxe.
